Arch Virtual has released this interactive application, designed to enable potential buyers to explore real estate before construction starts. This project was developed for the Panoptic Group in Chicago, Illinois, using the Unity3D game engine and can also be viewed on the new Oculus Rift virtual reality display.
Over the past year, T1M worked with various members of this talented team to design four unique, high-end user experience designs that reached a variety of audiences and met various challenges. Working with Kevin Hoyt and his team, we are pleased to present that following applications that are now live in the iPhone and Droid markets and available free to Smartphone users:
Finicky, Terrance Ryan: Designed to help travelers take note of their favorite places and things within a city they are visiting. Users are able to write a note about a particular place and tag it so that they can remember for the next time they visit!
100 Days of Exercise, Ryan Stewart: Designed to help active or inactive people to get into an exercise routine, by allowing the user to set a physical goal for the next 100 days. Throughout the 100 days, users get a daily reminder of their task hoping to encourage people to stay fit.
CalTrain Times, Renaun Erickson: Designed in mind of the Adobe employees who travel north and south/ to and from work on California’s transit system, CalTrain. Unsatisfied with previous apps on the market, our client was looking for something with a good user experience that would be helpful to fellow employees.
DropCam, Mihai Corlan: Based off of an existing application, T1M helped redesign the DropCam Application. The application helped to support installed DropCam cameras and allows users to view live footage and recent activity via their smart phone.

And of course, the now-traditional InterConnect double-decker running Park & Ride services. 10901 makes a return to Hull after an absence of five years, and in the meantime, it seems to have picked up a fair few scratches and dings. Those thrashings up and down rural Lincolnshire certainly not doing it any favours, that's for sure. I suspect the paintwork has been allowed to get this rough-and-tumble pending the application of the new-style InterConnect livery across this batch, as shown on the Wright single-deck also on loan to cover regular services. I think it'll look quite nice, honestly. But it just won't be the same seeing them like that every October.
Back in Hull for the first time in five years to work on the Hull Fair shuttles, Stagecoach Lincolnshire RoadCar's 'InterConnect'-branded 10901, a 2017 ADL Enviro400 MMC, is seen waiting time at Priory Park as it awaits passengers on another 22 shuttle to Hull Fair.

One of the applications of the tone-mapping portion of HDR software is in the process of bringing out textures ,rather than the more traditional use in expanding dynamic range. This is an example of such a use.
In Hamilton, Ontario's heavy industry area along Ottawa Street, there remains an extensive rail corridor servicing not only local industry, but also massive freight, and to a minor extent, passenger train traffic traveling between Toronto and the US border at Niagara Falls. This control box sits beside the tracks at one of the Ottawa street crossings near the Arcelor Mittal/Dofasco complex. What drew my eye was the combination of the 'Grimsby' reference (the town where I live), the blue/yellow colour contrast, and the textured, aluminum painted cabinet with all its hardware. My assumption is the Grimsby reference indicates it is on the tracks leading to/through Grimsby and the Ottawa ST reference is to the box's physical location (feel free to enlighten me if you have any insight on this). 'CN' is a reference to the Canadian National railway, now just referred to as CN. I went for a tight crop and then processed the image to bring out the textures without significantly altering its otherwise 'natural' look. - JW
Taken with a hand-held Nikon D5000 fitted with a 55-200mm VR kit lense set to 80mm, Aperture Priority mode, ISO400, f/7.1, 1/400 sec. HDR processing (actually just the tone-mapping portion of the software since this is done using a single image) was done using Luminance/Qtpfsgui with settings as indicated below. Additional PP was done in GIMP: perspective correction to reduce the distortion of the box geometry, curves to adjust tonal range to better fit a 'natural' look, slight saturation boost on the blue and yellow channels, sharpen, add border and scale to 1024 wide for posting.

The U.S. Embassy in New Zealand successfully organized a second USA Universities Expo in Auckland to recruit promising candidates and advise potential students on admissions requirements, diverse fields of study, applications, campus culture and opportunities for financial aid.
Over twenty institutions were represented at the 2014 Expo including thirteen admissions officers and recruiters from distinguished institutions across America, ten locally-based alumni as well as representatives from EducationUSA, the U.S. Embassy’s Consular Section and Fulbright New Zealand. The event was held Saturday, September 20, at AUT’s Sir Paul Reeves Building and included breakout sessions on topics such as sport scholarships, financial assistance, and student visas throughout the day.
The Expo kicked off with a cultural greeting and welcome reception at the Waipapa Marae on the grounds of the University of Auckland which was graciously hosted by Ngati Whatua. This event allowed U.S. university representatives the opportunity to network and mingle with secondary school administrators and others from New Zealand’s education sector as well as U.S. Consulate General staff.
The following Monday, nine institutions joined EducationUSA to conduct outreach at four secondary schools in the Auckland region. Recruiters relished the opportunity to engage with New Zealand students in their own environments at the Kristin School, ACG Senior School, Avondale College and Auckland International College.
With over 5,000 colleges and universities in the United States to choose from, attending an American university can be a transformative experience and identifying the right fit is an important first step. The Universities Expo helps New Zealand students find out more about the options available to them and meet with recruiters, admissions officers and alumni face to face. The number of New Zealand students studying in America has increased every year for the last four years; by more than 8% last year alone. Our hope is to see that trend continue by raising awareness of opportunities and providing accurate, transparent and timely information to all.
