This Apple store is one of the more unique designs Apple has in that this store is nothing more than a glass cube on top of the street with a stairwell leading downward into the actual retail space.

This is going to be the Fifth Avenue Apple store - this box and the granite courtyard around it. Clearly the box is going to be glass, and the granite will have a very polished finish. From the open doorway, we could see that there was work going on underground, but that's about all. How badly do I want to work here? So badly.

Two solid weeks of visitors: first seven days with my beloved cousin Chrisse and our-friend-Pam, then a day or two with Rosie and some guest stars, then a couple days to rest up for CPCNYC06, Cam's visit to his landlocked youth group friends here at NYU.
A lovely time was had by all, I have seen more museums and eaten more Grimaldi's pizza then I thought possible, and am rejuvenated to close out the semester with a bang. Huzzah, visitors!
We called them the "Sleazy Pay", they were notorious for breaking down at the worst times, and having really flaky card readers.
They are Symbol Technologies PPT8800 units (via), that launch a custom, locked down point-of-sale application on boot.
I once spent 6 hours on the phone with IS&T getting them working, only for them to be down again the next morning.

The Beatles at the Apple Store. Not sure what to say.
Strawberry Deals Forever?
She came in through the iTunes window?
In seven years they recorded a little over 200 songs together. It doesn't seem like that much music, but they moved very quickly... from Love Me Do to I'm Only Sleeping to Day In The Life to, well, beyond Beatle-dome.
MacLen were like the two main ingredients of a Reese's peanut butter cup finally come together (oops!) -- superior to each ingredient on its own.
I used to think of Lennon as a god and Macca as a simp. I see it all so differently these days. John would never really be a top-40 artist after the Beatles. Paul could go and write some of the greatest music of his life afterward only to be mocked as superficial.
John's death - premature and arguably during a rally of artistic prowess and personal victory over his many demons - damned Paul to a long, second-rate (if bountiful) life: His partner was frozen in time at the peak of his vigor, while he, Sir Paul, would age and wane publically.
I love John, but Paul wrote rings around him. Do 100 "Maybe I'm Amazed" compare to one "Imagine"? Nope. But Macca has managed to find some peace, grace and wisdom, if not always dignity.
Maybe the best message comes from George and Ringo: Be happy with good enough and if occasionally something brilliant comes along, be fucking grateful.
