I had two appointments at the Apple Store this afternoon, one at the Genius Bar and one for a One-to-One lesson. I was there for about 90 minutes and was awed by the constant crowd of people. I had a great hour with an Apple teacher, who helped me learn more about iCloud and straighten out the accounts on all four of my devices (iMac, MacBook, iPad, iPod Touch), so that they are all syncing properly to iCloud. Apple's customer service is the best! Although, I may not choose to appoints on a Sunday afternoon in the future, as it was a bit noisy and distracting with such a crowd.
Here's a photo of an iPhone showing a photo of an iPhone showing a photo of me. I had to take this meta-snapshot with my N6600 camera because the iPhone photo app lacks any visible bluetooth or infrared send capability, and sending email requires setting up an account. I tried signing into Flickr but all I got was a mess of timeouts, and anyway I'm not sure I would have been able to upload the photo through the Flickr form since I don't know how local file browsing for photos would have worked. The multi-touch interface is wonderful, but touchscreen keyboard input is a nightmare, and AT&T's data transfer speeds are a disgrace. iPhone, C+.
I don't know if it's the world's smallest, but this Apple store at Stanford Shopping Center in California sure looked nano-sized to me.
One for the Apple Store geeks out there.
The usual black Apple hoarding that cloaks the new Apple Store as it is built within the West Quay shopping centre in Southampton, UK.
If anyone knows West Quay, it's where Silver Screen used to be (so the new store will have an upper floor as well).
Early Saturday morning in Sendai, Japan. Hundreds (thousands?) of enthusiastic Japanese patiently waiting in a long line stretching the entire Vlandome shopping arcade, hoping to snatch a free t-shirt and win an iPod at the Apple Store opening event.
Delayed by a day, Stephen Fry finally delivered his Meet the Author talk at London's flagship Apple Store. I've met or encountered very few people as inspirational. Not so much a gay role model as a role model for our time full stop!
So I finally paid a visit to the Apple Store in Sydney today- I decided to wait until the hype was long over after its opening in June 2008 (click this link if you're curious as to why I waited 6 months.. Madness; Sydney Apple Store is open!)
And yes, you can tell that I was quite impressed with the interior stairs.
I took these photos with my phone.. And no, it's not an iPhone ;)
