This location appears to be a development that was started and then abandoned over a decade ago. Used as a car park during the day, this site is eerily quiet at night. No additional lighting for this photo. f/13, 20secs, ISO400. Post processed from RAW exposure in Adobe Lightroom 6.

This loco appears to be quite recently added to the TXL fleet and also carries some FS branding. Some sort of partnership I guess.

The Bright magnitude 6, binary star system (HD 138268) appears from behind the Blood Moon. It is on the right edge of the moon. The other bright star to the upper left is visible as well.

When I was a child

I toyed with dirt and I fought

As a child

I killed the slugs, I bored with a bough

In their spiracle

When I was a child

Peers pushed me hard

In my head, in my neck, in my chest, in my waist, in my butt

I still beg

Please help me

When I was a child

I threw with dung as I fought

As a child

I killed all thugs and bored with a bough

In their spiracle

When I was a child

Foes pushed me hard

In my ___, in my neck, in my chest, in my waist, in my butt

I still beg

Please help me

When I was a child

I rend my tongue distraught

As a child

I killed my thoughts and bored with a bough

In my spiracle

When I was a child

Fears pushed me hard

In my head, in my neck, in my chest, in my waist

I never loved

I still beg

Please help me

I was a child

I am a child

Morning appears on the backwaters of Kerala. It is still and magical. It is calm and mystical. The lily pads shine and the water glimmers as it moves in little waves. We all must find time in our lives to find moments in nature like this! They rejuvenate the soul!

Each year I am surprised to see these flowering so early, and then each year I look back at my photo a day albums, and realise the snowdrops in this garden DO appear in early January!

There is no sign of the ones in our garden yet.

This picture was taken from Pandan Indah flyover, Kuala Lumpur. I'm fed up with the never ending traffic jammed. However, God has given me a wonderful sighting. Luckily I bring my camera all the time... this is my second time I captured a wonderful sighting from Pandan Indah flyover after the sign of Allah appearing from clouds on 22/11/08.....

The city of Turenum appears for the first time in the Tabula Peutingeriana, a 13th-century copy of an ancient Roman itinerary. The name, also spelled Tirenum, was that of the Greek hero Diomedes. The city was later occupied by the Lombards and the Byzantines. First certain news of an urban settlement in Trani, however, trace back only to the 9th century.

The most flourishing age of Trani was the 11th century, when it became an episcopal see in place of Canosa, destroyed by the Saracens. Its port, well placed for the Crusades, then developed greatly, becoming the most important on the Adriatic Sea. In the year 1063 Trani issued the Ordinamenta et consuetudo maris, which is "the oldest surviving maritime law code of the Latin West". There was also Jewish community in Trani, which was under the protection of the king until it was given to the Archbishop Samarus during the reign of Henry VI at the end of the 12th century. In that period many great families from the main Italian Maritime Republics (Amalfi, Pisa, Ragusa and Venice) established themselves in Trani. Trani, in turn, maintained a consul in Venice from 12th century. The presence of other consulates in many northern Europe centres, even in England and Netherlands, shows Trani's trading and political importance in the Middle Ages. Emperor Frederick II built a massive castle in Trani. Under his rule, in the early 13th century, the city reached its highest point of wealth and prosperity.

But like a comet I was wondered at". ― William Shakespeare; 'King Henry IV Part 1: Third Series'.

“It was a comet. The boy saw the comet and he felt as though his life had meaning. And when it went away, he waited his entire life for it to come back to him. It was more than just a comet because of what it brought to his life: direction, beauty, meaning. There are many who couldn't understand, and sometimes he walked among them. But even in his darkest hours, he knew in his heart that someday it would return to him, and his world would be whole again... And his belief in God and love and art would be re-awakened in his heart. The boy saw the comet and suddenly his life had meaning.” ― Lucas Scott; 'One Tree Hill'.

Signs of spring seem to have appeared overnight, with warm sunshine, extra daylight, singing birds and ladybirds. It couldn't have timed better, it's like a big grey cloud has been lifted from my head and lots of things are changing. One thing that is changing in my life is my camera, my companion; it being posted to a new owner tomorrow. I've been aching to get my hands on a 5d mk2 for a long time but more recently the need for it has increased with lots of planned photoshoots this year, including weddings. I'm glad I waited as long as I did for this, I feel I really pushed the most I could out of that 500D, I'll be sad to see her go.

Although it is called a "Finch" it's actually a Tanager! This bird appeared in a friend's backyard and she graciously invited some friends to come see and get some shots of it.

More info:

Although commonly regarded as a canary, it is not related to the Atlantic canary and is actually a Tanager. Formerly, it was placed in the Emberizidae, but it is close to the seedeaters. The Saffron Finch is also known as Brazilian Saffron Finch, Brazilian Bunting, Brazilian Canary, Northern Saffron Finch, and Jamaican Wild Canary.

Pajama Sam as he appears in the Humongous Entertainment Games.

So this is probably a niche figure that a lot of people won't recognize but Pajama Sam was a big part of my childhood and I really wanted to make this figure.

Got the hair off BrickLink so don't really know where it's from but I painted that in a light blue, fully painted the face and the torso. The shoes were also painted on. He has his signature red cape and flashlight along with his Pajama Man Lunchbox.

Quite an odd figure but I like how he turned out.

A Mirror Image (in a plane mirror) is a reflected duplication of an object that appears almost identical, but is reversed in the direction perpendicular to the mirror surface. As an optical effect it results from reflection off from substances such as a mirror or water. It is also a concept in geometry and can be used as a conceptualization process for 3-D structures.

Two-dimensional mirror images can be seen in the reflections of mirrors or other reflecting surfaces, or on a printed surface seen inside-out. If we first look at an object that is effectively two-dimensional (such as the writing on a card) and then turn the card to face a mirror, the object turns through an angle of 180° and we see a left-right reversal in the mirror.

In this example, it is the change in orientation rather than the mirror itself that causes the observed reversal. Another example is when we stand with our backs to the mirror and face an object that's in front of the mirror. Then we compare the object with its reflection by turning ourselves 180°, towards the mirror. Again we perceive a left-right reversal due to a change in our orientation. So, in these examples the mirror does not actually cause the observed reversals.

The Catherine Palace is a Rococo palace in Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin), located 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of central St. Petersburg. It was the summer residence of the tsars. The palace is part of the World Heritage Site Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments. The display of the Catherine Palace (known until 1910 as the Great Palace of Tsarskoe Selo) covers the 300-year history of this outstanding edifice and presents the work of architects involved in its construction and decoration in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and also with the achievements of the restorers who returned the palace to life after the Second World War. Of the 58 halls destroyed during the war years, 32 have been recreated.

In 1717, while St Petersburg was being created on the banks of the Neva, the architect Johann Friedrich Braunstein started supervising the construction of the first masonry royal residence at Tsarskoe Selo that has gone down in history as “the stone chambers” of Catherine I. During the reign of Empress Elizabeth (the daughter of Peter the Great and Catherine I) in late 1742 or early 1743 it was decided to enlarge the building. From late 1748 until 1756 the construction of the Tsarskoe Selo residence was directed by Bartolomeo Francesco Rastrelli (1700–1771), the chief architect of the imperial court. On 10 May 1752 Empress Elizabeth signed a decree on the complete reconstruction of the old building and on 30 July 1756 Rastrelli was already presenting his new creation to his crowned mistress and foreign ambassadors.

The next stage in the decoration of the state rooms and living quarters came in the 1770s. The new mistress of the residence, Empress Catherine II, was fascinated with the art of the Ancient World and wanted to have her apartments finished in keeping with current tastes. She entrusted the task to the Scottish architect Charles Cameron (1743–1812), an expert on ancient architecture. The interiors that he created in the Zubov Wing and the North Part of the Palace are marked by refined beauty, austere decoration and especially exquisite finishing. In 1817, on the orders of Emperor Alexander I, the architect Vasily Stasov (1769–1848) created the State Study and a few adjoining rooms that are finished in a commons style – all these rooms were devoted to extolling the brilliant victories that the Russian army won against Napoleon in 1812 and afterwards. The last note in the symphony of palace state rooms was struck by the new Main Staircase created in 1860–63 by Ippolito Monighetti (1819–1878) in the “Second Rococo” style.

I don't have have a large repretoire of street photography, but in the summer of 2000 I was living in Toronto, and decided to try it out for a roll or two of film. Evidently, I didn't really even understand what street photography was about, since a large fraction of the photos don't even frame items at street-level.

I haven't felt as bad as today for quite a while. But uploading makes me feel as if there is a world outside of my room.

Dreams are living things.

They appear to us and grow bigger, more intense, calling for fulfillment. And just like any living thing, if no one feed them, if there is no care, they start to loose their bright colors. They get tired, fade away and die. Eventually, they get forgotten.

Our dreams define who we are. They are big or small, singular or plural, but they're always, always important in the print we leave behind us.

Leaving a print is not about living forever, but about feeding the next dreams, leaving a soil of hope behind us so the natural cycle of life keeps on going, with all the bright possibilities kept safe.

I am proud to be a human, to be part of a so complex species of so many faces, and still a same heart beat.

By asking: do you know your dreams, I ask you now… do you know yourself?

Realize your dreams, people. Realize yourself.

Arboretum, Tampere - Autumn 2016

The current century old Miami-Dade County Courthouse at 73 Flagler Street will see a new neighbor rise across the street; the new 474-foot-tall, 25-story Miami-Dade County Civil and Probate Courthouse was approved by the Miami-Dade Rapid Transit Developmental Impact Committee back in February of 2021. Designed by HOK, the 537,968-square-foot courthouse building is anticipated to become one of the tallest governmental-use towers in Miami.

Plenary Group, an Australian infrastructure investment firm, is the developer behind the proposals for the new courthouse under Plenary Justice Miami, LLC. The narrow piece of property is located within the western portion of Downtown Miami, also recognized as a part of the Central Business District, and in close proximity to the Government Center Metromover Station and the Interstate 95; bounded by Northwest 1st Avenue to the west, West Flagler Street to the south, Northwest 1st Street to the north and the HistroyMiami Museum to the south. Being that the property is owned by Miami-Dade County, developers had to submit a bid to be selected, where Plenary Group’s proposal was picked as the winner, likely due to the lower construction costs for the project. Other competing proposals were submitted by M-S-E Judicial Partners LLC and Sacyr Infrastructure USA.

Renderings from HOK reveal several elevations with offset window forms, creating a jagged-like texture from afar. The structure will be made of reinforced concrete and clad in what appears to be light-grey masonry with hints of metal trims scattered throughout the building and large floor-to-ceiling glazed windows. The eastern elevation facing the old courthouse features a slightly protruding volume enclosed in glass as well.

Likely due to minimizing construction costs, Miami-Dade County is permitting the project to proceed overriding several regulations. The parking garage will not require screening, and only 11% of the site will be open space whereas the requirement is typically 15%. A building’s facade normally requires 40% glazing, but in this case it will be at 27%. The proposed development can have blank walls facing the public without an artistic expressions such as mosaics or murals, and 0 site trees will be planted, whereas the required amount is 30.

Beth Greene as she appears in 'The Walking Dead'.

This figure was a long time coming, I was waiting for the legs to come in because as soon as I saw them I had to use them for Beth. Plus I've been procrastinating a lot on her.

I REALLY like how she turned out though and think she might be one of my favorite Walking Dead figs.

Her hair was from a Barbara Gordon minifig painted in yellow, head is a Penny from The Big Bang Theory head, torso was sanded on the sides and then completely painted by me. I added details that extend onto the hips, and the legs are from the Collectible Minifigure series Cowgirl I think. I painted on her bracelets, rips in the jeans, and some dirt to make her look a little less clean.

Give me your opinions on how you think she looks!
