USS Yorktown (CV-10) Aircraft Carrier
Replicas of the Mercury "Friendship 7" Capsule and the Apollo Command Module were built by the Robert Bosch Apprentice Program. The Robert Bosch Corporation is located in Charleston, South Carolina, is a world class manufacturer of automotive fuel injection, anti-lock braking, and diesel fuel injection systems.
Mercury "Friendship 7" was built in 1997 by Apprentice Team 18.
Apollo Command Module was built in 2001 by Apprentice Team 22.

On August 3, Mike and I visited the Bullock Texas State History Museum (1800 Congress Ave.) to see The 1968 Exhibit, which stopped in Austin during its national tour. Among the many intriguing displays was this full-size replica of the Apollo 8 space capsule.

The display and keyboard (DSKY) is the user interface to the Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC). It has an array of indicator lights, numeric displays, and a calculator-style keyboard. Commands were entered numerically, as two-digit numbers: Verb, and Noun. Verb described the type of action to be performed and Noun specified which data were affected by the action specified by the Verb command.

My second airplane. Aver comfortable airplane and a 190-hp Lycoming conversion gave it good performance.
Here, I had flown some friends to Florida to watch the Apollo 8 launch.
