Apache was put to rest today, he was a barn mate of my horse and due to some chronic late stage lameness was having problems falling lately. He was 23 and had a wonderful 15 years are our barn where everyone is spoiled.

Focussing frustrated by it being the wrong side of a line of telegraph poles/wires, hedges and trees. Highish ISO again as there was not much light and it needed pushing in post processing as it could have done with at least another +half stop of exposure compensation but I didn't have time to set the camera up when the Apache suddenly appeared.

The pendant stone is Apache Rhyolite and I found a great strand of Red Picture Jasper beads to enhance the silver pendant I made.
Dale Lawrence from "Dalerocks09" on Etsy did the lapidary art on the pendant stone.
Apache is the last surviving member of the three donkeys that were present when the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada started in 1992. This photo was taken four days before their anniversary date of 24 August.
I would have taken a better "head-on" photo of Apache but I was in the main jenny (female donkey) barn at breakfast time, and most of the donkeys had their heads down eating.

There were two of these Apache Helicopters flying about my area today 17/5/2006. ---- Not something you see everyday!
