Luckily Mira and Nelli were asleep and didn't notice anything ... so it could remain a peaceful Caturday :-))

Is there anything more violent in a relationship than being betrayed by someone you have placed your trust in? And isn't it even more violent to be betrayed a second time after having experienced this betrayal? And a third time? And so on?

Lavender blue Scabiosa, beautifully frilled, a genus in the honeysuckle family (Caprifoliaceae).

Another common name for members of this genus is pincushion flowers.

Scabious flowers are nectar rich and attractive to many insects, including butterflies and moths such as the Six-spot Burnet.

Have a super day and thank you, M, (*_*)

Simply Posed - Free and Easy

Out of all the trips I've made to the Pasco area, one thing that has eluded me was catching one of the former BN SD60Ms still in green paint leading one of the BNSF local freights. On my recent visit, after a week of rail photography, I was on my way to visit friends and then onward to Mount Rainier, when I stopped for gas at Kennewick. While filling up, I heard the warning horn on the Snake River Bridge sounding the alarm that the bridge was lowering. This mean the Low Line Local was on the way.

Well, it couldn't hurt to go check it out before hitting the road. Soon enough, here it came, with a familiar orange nose headed my way. A thought popped into my head "I hope the second unit is anything but green" because this would mean that the green unit would lead in return...and of course I'd be miles away at that point. Alas...it was an SD60M in green paint.

Something clicked within me. I texted apologies to my friends that I was tied up, and I committed myself to chasing the Low Line so I could catch the green unit leading the return trip.

I didn't take a ton of photos of the train, since access is less than fantastic between Wallula and Ayer, and this is the last shot I took, of the train crossing the Snake River Bridge approaching Pasco. The locomotive looks pretty good, I have to admit.

You are wrong if you think Joy emanates only or principally from human relationships.

God has placed it all around us.

It is in everything and anything we might experience.

We just have to have the courage to turn against our habitual lifestyle and engage in unconventional living.

Pangboche or Panboche is a village in Khumjung VDC of Solukhumbu District, Nepal at an altitude of 13,074 feet (3,985 m). It is located high in the Himalayas in the Imja Khole valley and is a base camp for climbing nearby Mount Everest and trekking. It contains a monastery, famed for its purported yeti scalp and hand, the latter of which was stolen. The village is inhabited mainly by Sherpas. Sungdare Sherpa, a native of the village, had the record for conquering Everest five times in the Sherpa climbing history and in the world history of mountaineering in 1989. Sir Edmund Hillary once built a swing for Pangboche School.

Well, we got the winter storm that was predicted............this was one time I was hoping they'd be wrong! Lol......

The ice sure is pretty to photograph, but I don't like it for anything else. Snow is supposed to be following this......I REALLY hope they're wrong about that!

This lived up to the mental picture of Wemyss Bay Station that I've had in my mind since I was a child and we got off the train here to catch the ferry for a day trip to Dunoon. I can't remember anything about Dunoon but I've always remembered the shapes and the light in this wonderful station.

I picked this shell off of some beach In Baja California, Mexico years ago and then finally photographed it last April, and then

converted it to black and white today using Nik Software's Silver Efex Pro 2.

Lighting: I first place the shell on a mirror, as I sometimes like that effect. I photographed this indoors, and the lighting is from a simple one light setup using a Yongnuo manual flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box hand held at camera left and just out of the frame. Fill light came from a small hand held mirror at camera right. The strobes and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.

Anything that I lit with off camera strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Objects album which has over 1600 images in it. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/albums/72157628079460544

Other pictures that I've taken of Sea Shells can be seen in my creatively titled "Shells" album.

I have and album of all the black and white images that I've posted on Flickr which can be seen here.

Especially if it's used...

And cool.

Now I will photograph anything and everything if I find it interesting. Some of my favourite subject matter is Graffiti, Street Art, Cars, Street, Urban Decay and Architecture. Often I make my images a little more gritty or employ a selective colour edit in my editing. A lot of Photographers don't like selective colour but hey, I'm the one taking the images and editing them to how I imagined the final image.

A trip out this cold Sunday afternoon with the camera to Chelmsford afforded a few opportunities. This purple car park staircase with some street art on the wall behind was the perfect subject for this weeks theme....... the only thing missing was a car parked in front of it but hey ho you can't have everything can you.

Perfectly lending itself to a selective colour edit I consider week 2 complete.

Dramatic light, flare, colour shifts and funny little glowy balls - the final roll of film I exposed on the day had a bit of everything. But I suppose that's part of the fun of expired film.

I can only think that Kandersteg enjoyed our visit as much as we did, if the heart in the final image is anything to go by. 😉

Either way, we had a very enjoyable day out amongst the mountains and can definitely recommend a day trip to Kandersteg and Oeschinensee.

It's been 63 days since I started the Insanity workout program by Beach Body. It's been one helluva ride!

Normally I wouldn't post pictures of me without a shirt, but this is anything but normal for me. It took a lot for me to share these with you. I'm very self conscience and have always been embarassed by my body. But no mas! ;o)

I busted my ass for the past two months. Worked out every morning at 5am. Watched my daily caloric intake like my life depended on it. Quit drinking alcohol. Cut out all sorts of sweets. In the end, the results were stellar.

I lost a total of 16 lbs. I started at 181.2 and weighed in at 165.2. I've increased my cardiovascular condition to the point where I can actually participate in a 5k run. I've toned up and look better than I have in several years. Overall, I'm just a whole lot healthier.

I'm very proud of how far I've come in a relatively short period of time. It takes patience, persistence, and a true desire to commit to a lifestyle change. But it is worth all of the effort put forth.

So here I am, before my transformation and after training my mind and body to accept the challenges necessary to achieve my personal goals.

Want to know what the secret is?

There isn't any.

Maintain a healthy diet; exercise at a moderate pace to increase your heart rate, 3-4 times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes; be sure to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day; and be sure to get your full night's rest.

Most importantly, you will lose weight if you burn more calories than you take in. This is probably the closest thing to what the "secret" to losing weight is.

It doesn't take a gym membership or fancy workout equipment or expensive DVDs. You just have to want it bad enough.

;o)

Couldn't think of anything creative, other than to get a quick shot with a poppy for Remembrance Day, as I was out doing things. Velvet obliged me.

I spent a moment in silence today with my daughter, as we thought about all the fallen soldiers and women who have served our countries.

Even Velvet stood still.

If I had anything to say, I would close the entire old town centre to car traffic.

I wasn't going to do anything like this at the start of the week - other ideas came and went. I've 'done' rubber bands before but not as 'macro' and I'm still trying to work-out 'bokah'. So the two thoughts came together. So to go with the theme On have an unstretched rubber band. After several attempts I've got this 'dreamy' version using my old legacy Russian Jupiter 8 lens - at least you can see that the diaphragm has 8 blades!
