"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. Anything goes for 2021 - Water - i'm being cheeky here and using frozen water
This is a small artificial rose frozen in an ice cube tray. I froze a few things but this is the one that I liked best or at least the one that I felt was my style. HMM

I think I must have stumbled upon Pandora's box, this apparent chaos seemed to unravel in front of my eyes.

The theme for "Smile on Saturday" for the 11th of January is "anything with A", where a picture of something (person, animal, plant, object) that begins with the letter A is required. Thus, I have opted for some beautiful Jonathan apples, which I photographed in the Nightingale Orchard a couple of years ago, when I visited the town of Wandilligong in provincial Victoria. These beautiful red apples were just too good to pass up on! I hope you like my choice of the theme for this week, and that it makes you smile!
Jonathan is a medium-sized sweet apple, with a touch of acid and a tough but smooth skin, good for eating fresh and for cooking.
The Nightingale family has been growing crisp, juicy apples in the Wandiligong Valley and alpine surrounds for over 60 years. Four generations on, the Nightingale family have five orchards: two at Wandiligong located 5 kilometres from Bright, one in the Buckland Valley just below Mount Buffalo, one at Stanley, and one in Batlow in southern New South Wales.

Absolutely loved hunting for agates on the sandy, southern shores of Lake Superior as I grew up vacationing there every summer. Then taught our kids to becoime rock hounds as we spent time with my parents in the U.P. and eventually inherited their lovely cottage there. Have so many wonderful memories of blessed family time on Superior. This photo, of the colorful agate, woven through the larger piece of quartz, came to mind when noodling on the "anything with A" theme for a favorite group of mine "Smile on Saturday".
