While eating dinner my wife and I have this doe come up to our patio looking for a meal, good thing I had extra apples on hand, so I cut them up and was able to get her some food, now she doesn’t run away when I go out to feed her, she just stands there and waits.

"I might as well be in a garden

I said, ah

A smell in the air is a dripping rose

(You could be the one for me)

Another soul to meet my void then

Of anything bare that's made of gold

A physical kiss is nothing without it

And you close your eyes to see what it's done

The body that lies is built up on looking

Cause all that remains before it's begun"

Tenzin Gyatso - Dalai Lama

"" There are only two days a year when you can't do anything: one is called yesterday, the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do and, above all, live. ""

Tenzin Gyatso- Dalai Lama

Nestled in the green Tuscan hills, precisely in Pomaia, part of the Municipality of Santa Luce, in the province of Pisa, is the Lama Tzong Khapa Institute, one of the most important centers for the study and practice of Buddhism in Europe.

The Statue of Cenresig was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in June 2014. The tallest statue in Europe of Cenresig (in Tibetan) / Avalokiteshvara (in Sanskrit), the Buddha of compassion, of which it is believed that the Dalai Lamas are the earthly manifestation .

It has a very special history: it was created by set designer Dante Ferretti for Martin Scorsese's film "Kundun"; once the shooting was finished the set was demolished, but the statue was saved, and after traveling from Morocco to Italy, arrived here, where sculptor Alessio Pazzini and his staff restored it to make it adhere to the precise iconographic canons Buddhists.

In this haven of peace monks and lay people live together, mostly volunteers and students who follow courses in philosophy, psychology and meditation, but it is open to anyone who wants to spend a period, or even just a few hours, away from the chaos of the city, surrounded by the nature, breathing good air and where instead of cell phone notifications birds are heard chirping.

I didn't have anything of interest to post for the month of August 2022. I guess I didn't get out enough that month to take shots.

So I decided to share a shot I took early September for the August selection.

This is an extremely vital roll for the Mom Alpaca... To share with her baby cria her antibodies in order to keep the baby strong, healthy and able to fight infections and so on.

It is absolutely amazing to see this process between the two. It's filled with love and compassion between mother and child. A true honor to have been there at the right time to capture this!

Many don't get a chance to witness the love and connection between these animals and their younglings!

I really so DO love my Alpacas

:-D)))

This is an outtake of one of my old HBW shots, so I thought I'd post this for the HBWE today as I don't have anything new. My lil man is under the weather.

Have a great Tuesday and Happy Bokeh Wednesday Eve!!!!!!

Turn around, look at what you see

In her face the mirror of your dreams

Make believe I'm everywhere

Hidden in the lines, written on the pagesIs the answer to a neverending story

(Aah, aah, aah)

Reach the stars

Fly a fantasy

Dream a dreamAnd what you see will be

Rhymes that keep their secrets

Will unfold behind the clouds

And there upon the rainbow

Is the answer to a neverending story

(Aah, aah, aah)

Story

(Aah, aah, aah)

Show no fearFor she may fade away

In your handsThe birth of a new day

Rhymes that keep their secrets

Will unfold behind the clouds

And there upon the rainbow

Is there anything more uplifting than standing on an unspoiled beach, toes in the sand, salt air swirling around you, and letting the moment sink deep into your soul?

Some helpful advice to end the week: If, at first you don’t succeed, destroy the evidence that you tried ;)

Thanks for any comments, they are all greatly appreciated!

Lilac hanging from a garden into a public path by the Cotswold Lakes.

A test of my macro extension tubes (10 and 16) with the XF 35 only for the second time outdoors. Lilac flowers are tiny, and with the wind slightly blowing, it was a real challenge to shoot anything in focus. Fortunately, one of my earliest shots (choosing one not in direct sunlight) managed to capture most of what I loved about this flower.

Taken during a visit to the Cotswold Lakes.

"When I was younger I could remember anything, whether it happened or not."

Mark Twain

The other day, on the rather testing climb to the top of Mt Amos, I stopped for a breather and found myself in good company: a cluster of ancient lichen-covered rocks doing exactly the same thing. We sat there in companionable silence, admiring the view they’ve been enjoying for a few million years longer than me.

Mt Amos sits within Freycinet National Park on Tasmania’s east coast, part of the Hazards range of pink-granite peaks overlooking Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay. It’s one of my favourite spots in Australia. Though, to be fair, so is everywhere else I visit!

And when I say, “the other day,” these days that could mean anything from yesterday to about twenty years ago. 😉

Fun Fact: Many mountains are made of granite - which is gneiss of them. Geologists have been known to take them for granite ... but only once. 😉

Happy Hump Day everyone!

As a follow-up to my post of yesterday. the situation in this photo is very similar to that image. A moose cow was bedded down off to the right of this image and this bull was very close by. Only this time I happened to be at a very close distance. This is full frame - no crop. Now a bull moose is rather large, so filling the frame means a good 25 yards or more away, which is considered a safe distance from an animal such as this. However, it was during rut, which means they can be unpredictable. Luckily there was a small creek between us and I was constantly watching him with my escape route already planned. He was not bothered by my presence (and a few other photographers) and if anything he moved closer to the cow which meant closer to me. I kept wishing he would raise his head, but wild animals seldom comply with our subliminal suggestions. Shortly after this shot he bedded down for the day as well.

Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, like or comment on my photos!

There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures.

Slowly returning and even more slowly, adding photos to my rather empty stream. And absolutely at snail’s pace, attempting to get round to visiting you all.

It will happen !! 🙌😂

Gray squirrels seem to like the "three-point stance" used by certain linemen in American football, with both back feet on the ground and one front foot.

More of a test than anything else. I don't think the sun could've been in a worse position but I'm too tired to work it out so I'm afraid this will have to do.

I know it isn't quite aligned correctly but I'd kinda committed to using this image and didn't feel like following the tutorial again. Hard enough remembering to take a face mask with me when I go out let alone figuring photoshop out!

Music apropos of nothing other than a little acid jazz and coffee eases me into the day after nights. Oh and some tenuous link in the lyrics, Dip (Trip) Flip Fantasia.

Does anyone see anything wrong with this boat?

That is right ... Where is the Li’l Woman? In the kitchen cooking perhaps?

Most boats are named after women. I guess this could technically be called the Miss Li’l Man, but the owner evidently decided to take all feminine touches off the boat. Perhaps it was a bad divorce where he only got the boat. Maybe she nags him about using the boat too much.

There are so many possible stories here. Whatever the story, however, breaking the feminine name protocol is a no-no!

A male rose ringed parakeet outside our kitchen window.

This brown bear was digging after critters to eat. It kept stopping to look back at what it dug up to make sure it didn't miss anything.
