This is a relief group Three Adoring Angels by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, made in the Lombard region in about 1490-1520. The expressions of grief on the faces suggest that this relief formed part of a Lamentation group with mourning figures gathered around the body of Christ. The jagged, clinging drapery style is typical of several Lombard sculptors. It is sometimes referred to as ‘cartaceous’ drapery because it resembles crumpled paper (Latin ‘carta’).

A mostly drab morning light wise in the Angus Hills although the summit cairn on Duchray Hill had an almost angelic illumination as I approached it.

Selbst Michelangelo Buonarroti hätte das nicht besser aus Marmor schlagen können.
I don't know wether a guardian angel has me on the radar. Sometimes I wish it were so.

Angel Place is a small alley located in Sydney's central business district, between George and Pitt Streets. It is known for its art installation "Forgotten Songs," featuring a series of empty birdcages suspended above the pedestrian path. This piece honors the bird species that once inhabited the area before urban development. As you walk through the alley, you can hear recorded calls of 50 bird species that used to reside in Sydney, with sounds changing throughout the day to reflect diurnal and nocturnal birds. This installation prompts reflection on urban transformation and the loss of natural habitats within the city.
