Well I am still here... just not around too much with the things going on.
But this is a quick one to keep Flickr happy and for Sliders Sunday.
Another experiment. This was taken on my phone using a free Android app called Paper Camera which produces a range of highly stylised looks that you can tweak a bit. It's all instant stuff, but I rather like the results so I'll probably explore a bit further.
The app generated image was adjusted slightly using the free online Pixlr editor, though I could also have used Flickr's inbuilt editor which I have found in the past is quite competent (not sure why more people don't use it really - some of the straight out-of-the-camera images you sometimes see posted could easily be improved a little using Flickr's editor. I guess people don't know it's there.)

IMG_6900nikfilthplinear Macro longish exposure of desiccant beads on top of my tablet screen. The light shining through them was created with and Android app called SpriteBrush Pro. It gives some pretty funky random effects.
I took this on my phone using the Camera FV-5 android app. This is the long exposure mode. I believe that because the exposure length I selected exceeds the available shutter speed (no ND filter), the app shoots a burst and tries to stack. The end product here is a result of the failed attempt at ghost removal. I really like it.
Trash has given us an appetite for art.

PicSay, otherwise a very usable Android app, kills EXIF info. Flickr allows manual correction of the date and time, but if camera settings were of any interest, they are lost :(

The shot here was actually an 9 exposure HDR image with the camera set to RAW, f5.6, ISO 100 and the bracketed shots went from 1/125 sec (-4 EV) to 1 seconds (+4 EV) using the android app DSLR Controller. For this shot I did originally shoot 17x frames but i'm now i'm starting to look very closely at the histrogram in Lightroom and being more selective as to which overexposed / underexposed frames to include (to avoid noise on the underexposed frames and also flare on the overexposed frames). The resultant images where imported into Lightroom and then exported to Photomatix to generate the HDR.

Meeting Norma for a camera club talk on Thursday made me look at Flickr again and realise that both that it was 2 years since my last post and also that the android app is no longer terrible.
Given my lightpainting has moved on a bit in the last 2 years, I thought I'd restart my Flickr stream a bit with an upload of some of my more 'landscape oriented' lightpainting.
This shot was done at Tanfield railway under a full moon. I used a lightpainting paradise acrylic rod for the hand drawn light flower and then added fill light to the shadows with another torch
This is Charvil Meadows where the dog sometimes takes me for walks. No more meadows (they can rebrand to Charvil Lakes) - as the little river Loddon has become a little bigger this week...
