Notice those shadows on the building. They're actually reflections. Gone are the days of beautifully designed and constructed buildings that compliment their surrounding and offer shaded areas. Instead, these days, it's all glass. And wherever you go, you see these reflections.

I needed to figure out some way for the Infusion Center nurses to have full access to my arms, while still maintaining warmth, as it's so cold in there.

Upon researching on Amazon, I found turtlenecked T-shirts. Ingenious. Then I bought the wool & fleece poncho, which goes right over my head. No need for sleeves

(See my tags for T-shirt and Poncho names)

Tis cancer chic

And I wouldn't expect anything less from myself

Quercus alba, or white oak, is a large, long-lived tree native to eastern and central North America. It can grow over 100 feet tall and 38–50 inches in diameter, with a wide, irregular crown and horizontal branches. White oak leaves are 5–9 inches long and 2–4 inches wide, with a bright green upper surface and a whitened lower surface. The bark is whitish or light gray, and can be scaly, ridged, or furrowed. In the fall, the leaves turn wine red.

The River King

~ by Alice Hoffman

For more than a century, the small town of Haddan, Massachusetts, has been divided, as if by a line drawn down the centre of Main Street, separating those born and bred in the 'village' from those who attend the prestigious Haddan School. But one October night the two worlds are thrust together by an inexplicable death and the town's divided history is revealed in all its complexity.

--

I've been an avid fan of author Alice Hoffman for 30+ years. Hoffman writes magical realism, a literary genre that depicts the real world interwoven with elements of magic and fantasy. Whenever I've mentioned Hoffman's name to people they typically shrug and say how they've never heard of her, that is until I've noted how it was Hoffman whom had written the novel "Practical Magic" which later became a Hollywood movie, that people say "oooh".

Oooh. Hmm. Welp, obviously not readers.

taken with my G1 android phone

Tomorrow is March 1st. The next few months are to be very busy. For starters I will be going into my office 3x a week now. I'm still on a reasonable accommodation until the end of March, and have been slowly building up my in-person days, with January being once a week, February twice, and now it's March. The in-person days have been building up both my confidence and endurance. It's working, and I'm feeling stronger as a result. It really is reinvention, and it feels amazing.

Work aside, I have also returned to my dental care. Following many years of having been a two pack per day smoker, daily drinker, matched with horrible eating habits, it had all reeked havoc on my teeth and gums. I'm now 4.5 years nicotine free, and 3 years alcohol free, having quit both cold turkey and 6-months apart. In 2023 a great friend of mine secured me a referral to NYU's College of Dentistry, and ever since then much has taken place. It is phenomenal dental care. And without any doubt, NYU Dentistry is THE best that I have ever received. In May 2025 all of that needed to be placed on hold as I needed to undergo chemotherapy treatments. It's never boring with me. Treatments concluded in October 2025 and now it's full speed ahead. It's a full mouth restoration and should be completed by June of this year. More reinvention, and it's all good. I am grateful and thankful.
