The Dollar Tree store located at 38th Street & Queens Blvd in Sunnyside, Queens is permanently closed. Mark my words, I guarantee you this entire corner building will be torn down with an apartment building put in its place. Queens Blvd, from 33rd Street east to 50th Street is on the brink of major construction, which will transform that entire strip.
New York Yimby, March 13, 2026
Construction is about to go vertical at 24-19 Jackson Avenue, a 55-story residential skyscraper in the Court Square section of Long Island City, Queens. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Capital in partnership with Incoco Capital, the 676-foot-tall structure will yield 600 apartments and 10,000 square feet of retail space. The 18,000-square-foot property is bounded by 45th Avenue to the north, Jackson Avenue to the southeast, and 23rd Street to the west.

Renderings Reveal 13-Story Building At 26-04 Jackson Avenue In Long Island City, Queens
This is 1 of 3 photos I'd taken in August 2022 of this large empty lot in Long Island City, Queens, NYC. I saved these photos for when something would eventually happen reference a major real estate deal. Welp, something considerable has indeed happened (see below)
Crain's New York Business, March 7, 2024
Midtown-based Fisher Bros. has parted ways with a Long Island City site where it once hoped to build a 240-unit project.
The real estate firm has sold 42-50 24th St. to developer Chris Xu's United Construction & Development for $57.5 million, property records show. The deal will add to Xu's already substantial portfolio of Queens projects.
The Hakim Organization and Property Markets Group bought the site in 2015 for $69 million, and the real estate website New York YIMBY published renderings of a 74-story tower planned for the address in 2018. However, in 2019 Fisher Bros. prefiled plans for a 35-story project at the site that would span about 255,000 square feet with 240 residential units, 40,000 square feet of commercial space and a hotel.
580 Park Avenue is a 14-story, 100-year-old cooperative building in Lenox Hill, New York.
The building was built in 1923 by renowned architect James E. R. Carpenter.
It has 60 apartments and a four-story limestone base.
The building's lot is 200 feet wide and 75 feet long.

These treatments, they're slowly killing me. And I am so tired of it all. I have one cycle remaining after today. It's just all very draining, and I just need to stay focused, even though I've zero energy. Once I have completed cycle 6, and have given my body a few months to convalesce. In time I aim to get back into my photography and soon to be physical regiment.

There's NO Parking on Sidewalks
_____
It's so out of control. And some are placing their neon construction vests on the dashboard as proof they can just randomly do as they please, and are seemingly getting away with it. These vehicles are never towed.
What if a disabled person needed to get past?
Or a citizen in a wheelchair for that matter?

This townhouse had been built in 1848 and at one time had been a foundry, which is a factory that produces metal castings to create ornamental and functional objects, such as door and cabinet hardware, skillets and waffle irons, and machine parts. They are especially useful for larger cast metal objects such as bronze sculptures and bells.
I just love photographing older buildings and later researching them and learning all types of unusual things
