Located at the northwest corner of Park Avenue and 60th Street, the church was built primarily during 1931–1933. Church services began in 1933 but financial impacts of the Great Depression and shortages of World War II prevented the mosaics planned for the interior from being executed until 1948–49. The church was designed by Ralph Adams Cram, who is known for his Gothic Revival ecclesiastical architecture. While designing this church, he used a combination of Romanesque and Byzantine Revival styles instead.

The Long Island City Clock Tower building had been constructed in 1927 by the Manhattan Company, a holding company that in 1955 merged with the Chase National Bank to create the Chase Manhattan Bank. For more than 60-years, the clock tower building had been the tallest commercial building in Queens at 14-stories. Until it was surpassed in 1990 by other structures, the building with the clock towered over the Queensborough Bridge and the elevated Flushing and Astoria subway lines running next to it.
In 2014, the Long Island City Clock Tower was purchased by developers and using land and air rights from the clock tower, as well as air rights from an adjacent lot owned by and purchased from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), a 71-story residential tower, Sven, was constructed by the Durst Organization, and opened in March 2022.Working with the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the Durst Organization hired a team of architects to restore the neo-Gothic clock tower building and its dilapidated glass and cast-iron clock faces. Those leading the project sought to swap the damaged frosted glass panels with a type of acrylic and replace the cast iron dials with aluminum durable materials that can endure years in the elements. The brown-brick landmark, with its castellated clocktower turret, will eventually be repurposed into a commercial and retail space.

Mack Trucks
Mack Trucks, Inc. is an American truck manufacturing company and a former manufacturer of buses and trolley buses. Founded in 1900 as the Mack Brothers Company, it manufactured its first truck in 1905 and adopted its present name in 1922. Since 2000, Mack Trucks has been a subsidiary of Volvo, which purchased Mack and its former parent company.
Trademark
The company's trademark is the bulldog, which can be found on the front of almost all Mack trucks. A gold-plated bulldog indicates the truck came with all Mack drivetrain including the engine, transmission and axles.
Mack trucks earned their nickname during World War I, when the British government purchased the Mack AC for supplying its front lines. Its pugnacious, blunt-nosed hood, tenacious performance, and durability, reminded the soldiers of their country's mascot, the British Bulldog. The logo was first used in 1921 for the AB chain drive models and became the official corporate logo in 1922.

New York or Nowhere has established a cult following since its founding during the depths of the pandemic.
Quincy Moore founded the lifestyle brand Knowlita in 2015, and Knowlita sold “New York or Nowhere” shirts. In 2020, Moore formed a company with Liz Eswein called New York or Nowhere (NYON), and in 2022 they opened a store on 250 Lafayette Street in Manhattan.
The saying “It will Always be New York or Nowhere” has been on some products since 2020. “New York Knicks or Nowhere” (in association with the New York Knicks, an NBA basketball team) has been on some products since 2025.

This morning it had been so beautiful outside. Cold and windy, though bright sun and blue skies. A treat for us New Yorkers, as we've had overcast days and rain for much of the past week.

Edwardian architecture usually refers to a Neo-Baroque architectural style that was popular for public buildings in the British Empire during the Edwardian era. Architecture up to 1914 is commonly included in this style. It can also be used to mean various styles in middle-class housing, including relaxed versions of Arts and Crafts architecture.

I wanted to show off my new Android phone, so here it is. Did I mention it's the coolest phone ever, well ya I know all about the iphone too, but who cares when you have an android. First few days can be very addictive, been busy downloading all the apps, and especially the ones I would use frequently like google reader and ofcourse flickr. And flickr has a cool android app, very good also uses some old algorithm where you can view updates on pics you commented.
P.S - It's quite chilly in Bangalore, so much for a tropical climate. The weather display is also an App :) I love my new phone.
Operation Pets Alive (operationpetsalive.org) had a booth at the "International Winter on the Waterway" (iWoW) event, held, November 17, 2012. We had a booth filled with hand-made pet-related crafts (including wonderful handsewn aprons in many patterns), along with a "Polar Express" theme, complete with a perfectly-attired "Mrs. Claus". The booth was a huge success.
These large doves were lit as part of the kick-off of the holiday season in The Woodlands, Texas.

The individual windows and door of this building remind me of The Syncopated Clock song and visual from the CBS TV show titled "The Late Show", which my parents frequently watched when I was a child. And I think about that whenever I walk past this building, which is typically twice per weekday on way to and from my office.

"The Syncopated Clock" is a piece of light music by American composer Leroy Anderson, which has become a feature of the pops orchestra repertoire.
