While getting ready for Android 2.3 and according to the snow here in Fulda / Germany, 2 members of my mobile device working group at the campus of the University of Applied Sciences asked me for building a snow Android and I agreed! Now the snow Android stands in the center of the campus.
May it be possible to get 1 to 3 Nexus S' as your support to developers who are really addicted to Android?
[There are plenty of photos to proof the progress!]
More about the mobile device working group which is focused on Android can be found here: www.hs-fulda.de/ag-endgeraete [currently German only!]
Had a requirement for being the Application fan I’m I wanted to Google Play to find the best Craigslist Android applications and using Craigslist recently to setting out some video production equipment. The most effective results weren’t always perfect so I’ve employed most of the a...
Having a little fun, I decided to make a CAD model out of the Android mascot. Here, I'm playing with the Depth of Field option in my renderer (that is, portions being in/out of focus based on their actual depth, as opposed to faking the effect in Photoshop with a blur filter and gradient mask). I wanted to try to bring a bit of a photographic eye to parametric modeling and rendering, and I'm pleased with the results.
While most cat owners take their pet's eating habits for granted, for me it's a rather sobering and serious matter.
Unlike my cherubic ginger cat Sunny, Joey tries to hide his hunger from us. It's bad enough that he doesn't have that great of an appetite - if I didn't look for him and offer him something to eat, he'd go through the day until he gets really hungry.
It's often that I have to give his meals far away from Sunny, who would love nothing else but to disturb Joey from having a decent meal in peace. Sunny likes to observe Joey eating from a short distance, hoping that Joey would leave even before he's had his fill.
No matter if I gave Sunny the same food, he always thinks that whatever I give Joey is tastier. So what would eventually happen is that Joey would feel uncomfortable, leave the plate and Sunny would take over and finishing whatever that is left.
Joey's grown thinner since our previous maid, Som left us on June 29th 2025. She initially asked for a week's leave to go back to her hometown in Lombok, Indonesia.
A week passed and she didn't bother to return our calls or reply to our messages via Whatsapp. It turned out that she went AWOL with no intention of returning to work. She left all of her clothes and didn't even take the Android tablet and radio that I gave her more than a year ago.
What was shocking was that the maid had stolen a few pieces of my mother's gold jewelry and had switched one of her rings with her cheap gold plated one, hoping that my mother wouldn't notice.
We have since managed to secure a replacement maid after three weeks. The new maid is hardworking and is a much better housekeeper, but Som had a natural gift with cats. In the end, it's always better to have a maid who is interested in earning her pay than one who was keeping false appearances.
