El Nevado Illampu constituye uno de los macizos más representativos de la Cordillera Real; es de forma piramidal y cuenta con cuatro picos: Illampu I a una altura de 6368 m.s.n.m., Illampu II a 6344 m.s.n.m, IIlampu III Pico Norte a 6060 m.s.n.m. y Pico Schulze a 5943 m.s.n.m. Se encuentra en la población de Sorata que se caracteriza por tener un clima frío, el paisaje está constituido por nevados eternos en sus cumbres. Según la cosmovisión de los pueblos originarios andinos el Nevado IlIampu, es uno de los dioses mayores, llamado “Kun Tixi Wiracocha”, o el “Hacedor de las aguas”, el constructor del mundo y protector de la vida, es decir el Olimpo Andino.

Illampu is the fourth highest mountain in Bolivia. It is located in the northern section of the Cordillera Real, part of the Andes, east of Lake Titicaca. It lies just north of the slightly higher Janq'u Uma, near the town of Sorata. Laguna Glaciar, located in the Illampu-Janq'u Uma massif, is the 17th highest lake in the world.
Despite being lower than Janq'u Uma, Illampu has a steeper peak, with more local relief, and is a somewhat harder climb. In fact it has the hardest normal route on any of the 6,000 metre peaks in Bolivia.

Las Cuevas es una localidad del departamento Las Heras, Mendoza, situada en la cordillera de los Andes, próxima al límite internacional con Chile. En el año 2018 el distrito de Las Cuevas, Penitentes y Uspallata fueron fusionados en uno solo llamado en la actualidad Uspallata y Alta Montaña.
Es la más elevada de la provincia a una altitud de 3.557 msnm y la situada más hacia el oeste.

Las Cuevas is a town in the Las Heras department, Mendoza, located in the Andes mountain range, close to the international border with Chile. In 2018, the district of Las Cuevas, Penitentes and Uspallata were merged into a single one currently called Uspallata and Alta Montaña.
It is the highest in the province at an altitude of 3,557 meters above sea level and the one located to the west.

A pocos kilómetros de la ciudad de Mira, en la parroquia Juan Montalvo, se encuentra el monumento a esta hermosa ave andina. Se llega por carretera asfaltada en muy buen estado, rodeada de hermosos paisajes de la cordillera de los Andes.
Junto a la efigie está instalado un columpio gigantesco para quienes gustan de la adrenalina.

Sobre la corriente de agua plantas acuáticas de Azolla foliculioides (color rojizo) y Lemna spp. (color verde). Los animales que se ven son llamas (Lama pacos).

Mirador de Kar (Piedra del Coyote) overlook, where you have to shoulder your way through crowds of people to get a good shot of alpenglow on the volcanic Andes... and it's worth it! Because can you imagine a better way to light a volcano? Awesome place, so what if everyone goes there at sunset.

The province of Chimborazo is surrounded by a fantastic landscape. The mountain ranges up to 200 km and is locally active volcanically.

The Booted Racket-tail is an Andean hummingbird found from Colombia and Venezuela south to Bolivia. This is a spectacular hummingbird - males have a short blackish bill, metallic green body, black wings, and elaborate tail. The tail is long and green, and the central two rectrices are extended with bare rachises tipped with blunt "rackets". Females are white below with green speckles and a white-tipped tail lacking racketed elaboration.
Both sexes of Booted Racket-tail show puffy white leg feathers. This very small hummingbird favors humid woodland edges in mid-elevations in the Andes.
