I came across this photo last night as I was going through my "gallery" and noticed a crow had flown into my shot!!

It looks like she is trying to take a selfie but she is actually part of a family Horse Team at The Iowa State Fair and shaving off the whiskers on the horse's chin and nostrils!
Happy Mono Monday!
** It has taken me a long time this year to take a butterfly photograph in my garden . This was on October 8th and both the Red Admiral and the Rubekia flower are showing signs of deterioration . Nevertheless I will take any colour I can find in the garden as the days begin to shorten

An Oystercatcher coming in for a landing - - we had just had lunch at a brewery in Iceland when I noticed a pair of these landing in a park across the road from us.
I walked over with my camera and was able to get a few quick shots before the rain; and I found their nest pretty much immediately

Hoi An formerly known in the Western world as Faifoo or Faifo, is a city with a population of approximately 120,000 in Vietnam's Quảng Nam Province, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. This was an old barn that I came across in northeastern Oregon. During post processing, I removed some clutter next to it to create a more picturesque scene.

I usually only take a few shots of Sandhill Cranes because they are so far away, and my puny lens doesn't really get them all that well. I went out to Frenchman's Bar Park to see if I could find my favorite raptor (I didnt'). I wasn't quite prepared when this crane flew right over me, but I got it!
This is such an eye catching clock.
Quite a sharp photo if you click-zoom, I think this was shot with the aperture wide-open (f/3.5, Tessar).

We did get about an inch of snow. Lasted for about three days before melting off. Now just a lot of moisture, hanging in the air, between bouts of rain.

I have always wanted to learn to be more artistic and draw, paint, doodle, anything to help me see light and shadow better. Also, I want to learn to code and have signed up for an online class to learn Python. I've decided that I need to stop working on my photo project to start opening up time to other areas of interest. It's not clear to me yet if giving it up completely will work because so I am not ready to stop cold turkey after almost 9 years but maybe I should just phone it in for a bit.

I was surprised to see a small branch with tiny lilac flowers in bloom again. I used my tablecloth as a backdrop for a few photos. So now there is a bit of spring and fall mixed together. No matter what season the flowers smell lovely.
