Tyler Rourke, Bellingham WA, with working replica of hi-fi amplifier
designed and built by Jack Rosenberg (engineer on John von Neumann's
Electronic Computer Project) as a gift from the Institute for Advanced
Study to Albert Einstein on his 70th birthday in 1949. Sounds as good
as it looks!
Minifigs have plenty of guitars these days but not much to play them through! How about a classic English class AB tube amplifier?
M50 mark II and Asahi Super Takumar 50mm F1.4. Model: my Twin Darling vacuum tube amplifier, with CV5311 driver tubes (the small ones) and 1626 power tubes (the big Coke-bottles;)
one that I built from scratch in 1980 using experience gained from repairing stereo equipment for many years. Still works perfectly to this date. I built at least two others, they have held up too. Boards on the right are LED level indicators for output.

A well-respected amplifier of the late seventies from Hitachi: Stereo power amp HMA-7500. This Hitachi was one of the first neutral-sounding MOS-FET power transistors successfully used. The amp really sounds refreshingly neutral. 75 watt pc is the power of HMA-7500.
The front controls are minimalist, nothing else is needed. It was offered in silver and black front and became a Hitachi amp bestseller. Here is the version with optional 19" rack mounts in nice shape.
Good job they are only EL84’s in there. EL34 thru KT88’s are cooking territory. The Blackstar HT20 RH is a lovely sounding amp, especially through the Celestion greenback speaker
On the far right, on the grill, it says: "Marshall."
Well, it is an amplifier, in a sense.
It´s an old, forgotten, El Camino, at least.
I have just found Alex is not only an increadible photographer, but also a crazy music lover. This is what I saw at his lab. I did not know audio gears could be so sophiscated.
I pulled an old amp out of the cupboard and after replacing a couple of the tubes it worked fine. The blue fluorescence from electrons on the envelopes may indicate a problem, I am not sure. The speakers are my own design/build using SEAS and Bohlender Graebner drivers.

This project is about a TPA3001D1 audio power amplifier. We built and tested this amplifier as a more efficient alternative for the TDA2030 power amplifier.
