The U.S. Consulate General Mumbai, in collaboration with G2: The Global Gujarati Magazine, Trident Bandra Kurla, and the Motion Picture Association of America – India Office, showcased the American film “The Great Gatsby”, in an event featuring a conversation with Indian film star Amitabh Bachchan, at the Trident Hotel, Bandra Kurla Complex on Thursday.
The discussion was moderated by Abhinav Aggarwal, CEO and Editor of G2, who spoke to Amitabh Bachchan about his experiences playing the role of Meyer Wolfsheim in the recently released film. The program was followed by a dinner featuring Gujarati cuisine. “The Great Gatsby” is a Warner Bros. Pictures film based on the classic American novel.

In my journey as a model and actor, I have always been fascinated by the media world and the film industry. In photography too the attraction has not faded.
While starting humansofmumbai.in I had no idea of what and how I it would be done. I have shot various "humans" living in Mumbai and written a short note from what they have said.
On my passion of shooting for humansofmumbai, I came across this big hoarding of the Sir Amitabh Bachchan and was simply fascinated by the visual. My deep love for the film industry and the Icon just made me click this shot. I know it is an impossible dream to ask the Sir to be a part of humans of mumbai, but i couldnt resist to compensate my dream with this shot of him in the hoarding of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
I wish him and the entire team the very best for the new season of KBC.

Amitabh Harivansh Bachchan 11 October 1942 is an Indian film actor. He first gained popularity in the early 1970s as the "angry young man" of Hindi cinema, and has since appeared in over 180 Indian films in a career spanning more than four decades. Bachchan is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors in the history of Indian cinema.So total was his dominance of the movie scene in the 1970s and 1980s that the French director Francois Truffaut called him a "one-man industry”.He occupied the top slot of Box Office India's Top Actors list for a record (shared with Dilip Kumar) sixteen consecutive years.
Bachchan has won numerous major awards in his career, including three National Film Awards as Best Actor he shares with Mammootty and Kamal Hassan, a number of awards at international film festivals and award ceremonies and fourteen Filmfare Awards. He is the most-nominated performer in any major acting category at Filmfare, with 37 nominations overall. In addition to acting, Bachchan has worked as a playback singer, film producer and television presenter. He also had a stint in politics in the 1980s. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1984 and the Padma Bhushan in 2001 for his contributions towards the arts.

I saw a few hairs slightly over his eye and brow, walked up to him, gently put it back in place, we smiled at each other…
