A Petrobras comemorou 25 anos de presença na Amazônia com o aniversário, em outubro, da Base de Operações Geólogo Pedro de Moura, em Urucu. As instalações estão localizadas a 660km de Manaus, capital do estado do Amazonas. Lá, em plena floresta, a empresa busca, aliado ao convívio harmônico com a natureza.
As imagens que ilustram esse ensaio foram registradas em Uurucu e no Bosque da Ciência - espaço de preservação e estudo da natureza mantido pleo Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (Inpa), em Manaus. Elas são uma pequena amostra da diversidade de fauna e flora que pode ser encontrada ao se observar de perto essa imensa floresta equatorial.

ACRCTT - As we pull the boat into a small grove, we saw a simple campground. With Amazonia Expedition you can choose camping here as an optional activity. We know there is a couple planning to do that tonight. Gerlo stopped here and explained to us these are the incisions for collecting rubber tree sap. Here the tracks are not as clearly marked as the one in the grid. You can clearly see the damage from the flooding is not any different than inside the grid. The main difference to me is significantly more noise from the animals; include what we believe is the red howler monkey call

Originally brought from Indial to the Marajó island in the Amazon Delta, these buffaloes quickly adapted to the Amazon, and are now one of the hardiest and well adapted species in the region.
Bought this Amazon from Tony Barrett (The Old Volvo Guy) when he was at South Service.
