Byōdō-in (平等院, "Temple of Equality") is a Buddhist temple in the city of Uji in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, built in the late Heian period.[1] It is jointly a temple of the Jōdo-shū (Pure Land) and Tendai-shū sects. This temple was originally built in 998 in the Heian period as a rural villa of high-ranking courtier Minamoto no Shigenobu [pt; ja], Minister of the Left. After he died, one of the most powerful members of the Fujiwara clan, Fujiwara no Michinaga, purchased the property from the courtier's widow. The villa was made into a Buddhist temple by his son Fujiwara no Yorimichi in 1052. Pottery – Moroccan pottery can vary wildly from place to place, but a few cities have truly put their mark on the ceramics trade. Safi is perhaps the most notable ceramic city, with large markets dedicated to their sale as well as a wide variety of shops and styles. Safi also offers a more relaxed atmosphere for shopping, and since the pottery is made onsite, you’re often dealing with the very men who created the plate in your hands. Outside Zagora, Tamegroute is known for its unique green-glaze pottery.
The large viewpoint has several information signs and is fenced off. Don't pass the protective fencing, as calving off the glacier can create massive waves that are dangerous to those near to the lake. We’ve seen people walk down to go right beside the lake itself, however Parks Canada is quick to warn you that there is frequent rock and icefall off the Glacier and its adjacent mountains.

The Fürstenzug (English: Procession of Princes) in Dresden, Germany, is a large mural of a mounted procession of the rulers of Saxony. It was originally painted between 1871 and 1876 to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Wettin Dynasty, Saxony's ruling family. In order to make the work weatherproof, it was replaced with approximately 23,000 Meissen porcelain tiles between 1904 and 1907. With a length of 102 metres (335 ft), it is known as the largest porcelain artwork in the world. The mural displays the ancestral portraits of the 35 margraves, electors, dukes and kings of the House of Wettin between 1127 and 1904.
The Fürstenzug is located on the outer wall of the Stallhof (Stables Courtyard) of Dresden Castle.
The classic red-and-white lighthouse is still operated by the Canadian Coast Guard, and is situated on an extensive granite outcrop at Peggys Point, immediately south of the village and its cove. This lighthouse is one of the most-photographed structures in Atlantic Canada and one of the most recognizable lighthouses in the world. I captured the image of this lighthouse with reflection onto the water pot hole between its giant rocks.
The National Gallery (German: Nationalgalerie) in Berlin, Germany, is a museum for art of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. It is part of the Berlin State Museums. From the Alte Nationalgalerie, which was built for it and opened in 1876, its exhibition space has expanded to include five other locations. The museums are part of the Berlin State Museums, owned by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
Zuibaichi, literally: "Drunken Bai Pond") is a Chinese garden in Shanghai's suburban Songjiang District that dates back to the Song Dynasty. It occupies an area of 5 hectares and is one of the five ancient Chinese gardens in Shanghai. The garden's name lies in the famous Chinese poet Li Bai. It is said that if Li Bai was brought back to life and had a sightseeing here, he would certainly lingered on and forgot to return, just about drunk. Actually famous men of letters usually gathered together, making various poems on the fantastic landscape. Drunken Bai Garden has an architectural style of Chinese traditional garden which was inherited from architectures in Suzhou: elegant pavilions, winding and zigzagging paves, carved beams and painted rafters. It was such a scenery of exceptional charm that it attracts an endless stream of tourists.
Gypsum Mine Lake is a beautiful hidden gem of rich aqua blue waters against white gypsum cliffs all surrounded by lush green forests. The lake is at the end of the Gypsum Mine Trail, roughly a half hour hike. When arriving at lake, hike short path up to left to get stunning high views. (La Prairie, Nova Scotia, Canada)
This short hike follows an established trail/ATV track that leads to a beautiful swimming spot near the Acadian village of Cheticamp. From the trailhead take the trail toward the foot of the Highlands and at the intersection, you will see big outcrops of gypsum. Go straight through the intersection and the gypsum mine lake is behind the sheer gypsum cliffs.
The trail ascends gradually and rewards you with views of the Gulf of St Lawrence. At the top of the ridge you go in between two small hills and into the old gypsum quarry that water has filled to create a lake. There are sheer walls of gypsum on some sides and spots to dive in from different heights. The water from the gypsum mine lake is considered medicinal from its high calcium content as well as ability to detox heavy metals. The gypsum outcrops give the water a turquoise colour.

In the Middle Ages, knightly games and tournaments took place in the Stallhof (Stall Courtyard), which is part of the big Royal Palace complex. Today, the court between the Johanneum and the "Langer Gang" (Long Arcade) is used for cultural events. The Procession of Princes is located on the outside of the Stallhof, on Schlossplatz Square. The 101-meter-long mural represents the history of the Wettins, Saxony’s ruling family, as a larger-than-life procession of riders.

EVIA ISLAND, GREECE.
The island of Evia lies along the Eastern coast of Central Greece, and is accessible to the mainland via two bridges, an old wooden bridge and a contemporary suspension bridge. There are also frequent ferries to several parts of the island. It is 175 km long and is the second largest island in Greece, and the third largest in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Bran Castle is known outside Romania with the name of Dracula’s Castle due to the legend. This castle became known abroad owing to the Irish writer Dracula novel Bram Stoker. The name Dracula comes from the surnames of Vlad the Impaler’s father, the Dracul, he was the member of the Dragon Order. This is the one of the most beautiful medieval castles in Romania.
A marble relief in the south part of the arcade is the last work of the sculptor Christian Daniel Rauch. It shows "Moses in prayer, supported by the high priests Aaron and Hur". The Protestant Church of Peace (German: Friedenskirche) is situated in the Marly Gardens on the Green Fence (Am Grünen Gitter) in the palace grounds of Sanssouci Park in Potsdam, Germany.

The courtyards at Museum Island close to Friedrichs Bridge, I shot this image through the column to catch Fernsehturm. The Friedrichs Bridge (German: Friedrichsbrücke) is a bridge in Berlin, one of several crossing the Spree between Museum Island and the mainland portion of Mitte.
The terraced grounds originally had mostly grapevines for wine making, and there are still some low-climbing grape vines, but the terraces now feature 168 windowed niches planted with fig trees, alternating with trellised vines from Portugal, Italy & France. However, it was the season that we we vistied the palace to see the grapevines.
The lowest level had a more formal, Baroque, park-like setting of fountains, statues, boxwoods, ornamental gardens an parterres, all based on the gardens of Versailles. This image was shot from the other side of the fountain with steps toward the Palace.
Pleasant Bay is a community on the western coast of Cape Breton Island, on the shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence in Inverness County, Nova Scotia. The community is located on the Cabot Trail and is known as the whale watching capital of Cape Breton and marks the center of the Cabot trail. ----- Pleasant Bay (Scottish Gaelic: Am Bàgh Toilichte) is a community on the western coast of Cape Breton Island, on the shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence in Inverness County, Nova Scotia. The community is located on the Cabot Trail, 141 kilometres (88 mi) from Port Hawkesbury. The federal electoral riding is Sydney—Victoria. Pleasant Bay is known as the whale watching capital of Cape Breton and marks the centre of the Cabot trail.
Staroměstská (Czech pronunciation: [ˈstaromɲɛst.skaː]) is a Prague Metro station on Line A, completed in 1978.
The station is located under Kaprova street in the Old Town (its name means 'Old Town' [station]). There is currently one entrance through an escalator tunnel from the corner of Kaprova and Valentinská streets (with the Old Jewish Cemetery, Municipal Library and Rudolfinum within one or two minutes walk). There were also plans to build a second escalator tunnel with an entrance from the northeast corner of the Old Town Square which would use and show to the public a preserved cellar of a medieval house (like the ruins of a medieval bridge at Můstek station), but this has been postponed indefinitely due to financial constraints.
The main wall on the sea-facing side of Dubrovnik stretches from Fort Bokar in the west to St. John Fortress in the south, and to the Revelin Fortress on the land-side. These walls are 1.5 to 5 meters (5â16 feet) thick, depending on their location and its strategic importance.[8] The purpose of these walls were to help defend the city from sea-based attacks, particularly from the Republic of Venice, which was often considered a threat to Dubrovnik's safety.

A small village about a six minute drive from the Town of Lunenburg. The little community of Blue Rocks is advertised as “Lunenburg’s answer to Peggy’s Cove”. Still a working fishing village with blue slate rocks on the edge of the ocean making it an artisan and photographers muse. The fish shack sitting in the water is the most photographed building in the county. Blue Rocks is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Lunenburg Municipal District in Lunenburg County. It stands to seaward of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, somewhat to the east. For many years a fishing village, it was discovered by many artists and photographers (including Joseph Purcell, William E. deGarthe, Jack L. Gray, Wallace R. MacAskill, E. Earle Bailly and others) beginning in the 1940s. Today the village boasts many artists, and there are also numerous guest houses to be found among the fishermen's dwellings.
Looking for the classic postcard shot? Just head down to Esplanade – Theatres of the Bay and walk along its idyllic waterfront. Within minutes, you will find an unobstructed view of Raffles Place with the historic Fullerton Hotel taking center stage. On the left, the Esplanade Bridge was built to provide faster vehicular access between Marina Centre and the financial district of Shenton Way.

The beautiful Mount Fuji is a symbol of Japan, with an altitude of 3,776 meters. It is the highest mountain in Japan. The Japanese regard it as a sacred mountain and Mount Fuji. It has been the subject of praise by Japanese writers and artists for many years. In Japan, people think that climbing to the top of Mount Fuji is a hero, which echoes the Chinese saying that if you don't reach the Great Wall, you are not a hero.
Mount Fuji is divided into ten stations from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. Starting from the foot of the mountain to halfway up the mountain is called the fifth station. Climbing up from the fifth station is the sixth station, the seventh station, and the tenth station at the top of the mountain.
Many people are proud to climb Mount Fuji. For this reason, we specially arrange for you to take the bus to the fifth station at 2,305 meters to witness the spectacular scene of Mount Fuji in person. The landscape of Mount Fuji changes with the seasons throughout the year. This is a short trail in Minden and runs on either side of the Gull River. I recorded it when I was out for a bike ride but this is really better suited to a walk/hike than it is for cycling. Adjust your time accordingly. Parking is available near the start point and several other places along the way. Bridges are at either end, one bridge has vehicle traffic, one is pedestrian only.
There are several interesting wood carvings and on a sunny summer's day you'll see people swimming or even floating down the river on tubes.

白絲瀑布（日語：白糸の滝／しらいとのたき）是位於日本靜岡縣富士宮市上井出的一處瀑布。和其附近的音止瀑布並為當地著名的觀光景點，被選入日本瀑布百選，也是日本的名勝和天然紀念物，並被劃入世界文化遺產名錄當中。水量每秒約有1.5噸。寬200米，從高約20米的山崖注入河中。因其外觀似白線從山崖垂下，因而得名。
I almost didn't make it here. There was no time on my initial schedule for a trip to Fitz Roy & Cerro Torre. But for whatever reason, I met this kiwi guy in Peru and chating about random things eventually we got to our itineraries and I mentioned that I'd be heading to Patagonia after the Inca Trail. I gave him information about the route I'd be doing, and I mentioned that I had 2 big priorities in Patagonia: 1-Complete the Torres Del Paine Circuit 2- See the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Having said that, he mentioned that his priority in Patagonia was Fitz Roy / Cerro Torre, and the next few words he said would become the trigger for a big and massive change on my initial plans. He said: "But, what a shame you are going to miss Fitz Roy" ... those words hit me baddly, and even not showing that I was felling a bit sad because of the idea of 'missing' these places, I just could not take my thoughts away from it.
Day after day, during the Inca Trail ... there was not a single day I didn't get myself wonddering, is there any way I can manage to go to Fitz Roy / Cerro Torre? I kind of knew the answer for it, but at that point I wasn't believing that it could be done, and trying hard to fight against my own thoughts eventually that issue went away for a while.
Once the Inca Trail was finished, on my way down to Patagonia, whilst on the plain I grabbed guides, maps and notes I had written months, weeks and even days before I set off to Peru. And started to re-do again my trip-plan for Torres Del Paine which was already audacious. By the time I got to Punta Arenas I had drawn a new plan which consisted of finishing the Torres Del Paine Circuit + Side Trips in nothing more than 5 days, 1 day less than the original plann.
With that extra day I would have the time I needed to go and see Fitz Roy / Cerro Torre. So I had to 'work hard' to stick to this new crazy schedule.
Something was making me believe that if nothing goes wrong i.e: get stucked on the John Garner Pass because of rough weather or whatever, I could do it. And all of the sudden just 5 days after having started one of the most amazing hikes on hearth I was again at the Hosteria Las Torres, where it all began.
From there, took the bus to Laguna Amarga and from there back to Puerto Natales, where the next day I would start my trip towards El Calafate in Argentina, and of course straight to El Chalten.
On the 6th of January at 5 in morning I started the last hike for this trip (Fitz Roy & Cerro Torre), where again I basically covered a 2 days hike in 1 (more or less 27kms). The path is very easy compared to what I faced in Torres Del Paine just a few days before. Not to mention I was just carrying my camera gear, all other stuff I had left behind at the hostel where I spent the night.
And this is the epic I went through to get to this place. I have to admit, I would have regret it so much if I haven't at least tried. Specially because I am so far from South America and I have no idea when I will be down there again.
Cerro Torre is one of the most spectacular mountains of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field in South America. It is located in a region which is disputed between Argentina and Chile, west of Cerro Chalten (also known as Fitz Roy). The peak is the highest in a four mountain chain: the other peaks are Torre Egger, Punta Herron, and Cerro Stanhardt.

Gargoyles spitting rain - That's right, it was draining the rain water. Not only do these stone carvings protect the Cathedral from dark forces (at least according to tradition), they also protect the Cathedral from its arch nemesis water damage. A gargoyle is essentially an elaborate waterspout that diverts rain away from the Cathedral walls.
The replica of a 1502 Portuguese ship, " the Flor de la Mar". The Missing Treasure Of The Flor de la Mar - The Flower of the Sea, was an early 16th century vessel which ran voyages for nine years, from 1502 – 1511, when it eventually sank somewhere off the coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. It is theorized that it sank at the norther end of the Strait of Malacca when it got caught in a storm on its voyage back to Portugal. Happy Canada 150th Anniversary Day!
