As soon as we entered the small town of Peggy’s Cove we knew we would be delighted. Charming and colorful buildings surrounded us. Although this house is not color attracting like others but it shows that the house was built and raised up above the sea level by 10+ layers of huge wood logs.

Lost in the mountains, Rila Monastery is imposing and mysterious. Surrounded by walls was the center of Orthodox Christianity for centuries. Amazing frescoes and monasteric architecture. Do not miss to visit Monastery's museum. According to the museum there, the Rila Monastary is the âspiritual torchâ of Bulgaria. The painted frescos, main chapel and monastery as a whole were all incredibly beautiful tucked up in their mountain perch. The monastery rules encourage quiet and that quiet translates into a magical feeling throughout. The cold, rain and misty October this year, the day of our visit only added to the reverence of the place.
A pano view of Jemaa el-Fnaa was captured from the top of a cafe/restaurant by multiple shots and stitched in PS.
Jemaa el-Fnaa is a square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter (old city). It remains the main square of Marrakesh, used by locals and tourists. The origin of its name is unclear: jemaa means "congregation" or "mosque" in Arabic, probably referring to a destroyed mosque on the site. Fnaʼ or fanâʼ can mean "death/extinction" or "a courtyard, space in front of a building". "finâʼ in Arabic commonly means "open area"; a straight translation would be "the gathering/congregation area". Other meanings could be "The assembly of death," or "The Mosque at the End of the World".
FOR A THOUSAND YEARS, JEMAA el-Fna has served as a gathering place and market at the heart of Marrakesh. Fortune tellers, snake charmers, poets, and storytellers come to entertain the crowds, helping to create an intoxicating atmosphere whose cultural importance inspired UNESCO to create its “Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.”
Today, the square attracts the entire spectrum of life in Marrakesh: locals of varying social and ethnic backgrounds, and tourists from across the world. In the morning, stall owners set up their stands selling orange juice, spices, traditional medicines, mint leaves, and snails. The flutes of snake charmers drift across the square, monkey trainers entertain the crowd, and tooth-pullers ready their pliers to pluck out the aching teeth of passersby.
Once the sun sets, Jemaa el-Fna really comes alive. Restaurants around the square start serving hungry customers as they stroll around the plaza. Berber musicians and Gnaoua dancers begin their nightly performances, acrobats and slapstick comedians start performing all across the square, and henna tattoo artists vie for customers as storytellers, and poets pass on the oral traditions of Morocco.

The classic red-and-white lighthouse is still operated by the Canadian Coast Guard, and is situated on an extensive granite outcrop at Peggys Point, immediately south of the village and its cove. This lighthouse is one of the most-photographed structures in Atlantic Canada and one of the most recognizable lighthouses in the world. I captured the image of this lighthouse with reflection onto the water pot hole between its giant rocks.

Pottery – Moroccan pottery can vary wildly from place to place, but a few cities have truly put their mark on the ceramics trade. Safi is perhaps the most notable ceramic city, with large markets dedicated to their sale as well as a wide variety of shops and styles. Safi also offers a more relaxed atmosphere for shopping, and since the pottery is made onsite, you’re often dealing with the very men who created the plate in your hands. Outside Zagora, Tamegroute is known for its unique green-glaze pottery.

The large viewpoint has several information signs and is fenced off. Don't pass the protective fencing, as calving off the glacier can create massive waves that are dangerous to those near to the lake. We’ve seen people walk down to go right beside the lake itself, however Parks Canada is quick to warn you that there is frequent rock and icefall off the Glacier and its adjacent mountains.

In the Middle Ages, knightly games and tournaments took place in the Stallhof (Stall Courtyard), which is part of the big Royal Palace complex. Today, the court between the Johanneum and the "Langer Gang" (Long Arcade) is used for cultural events. The Procession of Princes is located on the outside of the Stallhof, on Schlossplatz Square. The 101-meter-long mural represents the history of the Wettins, Saxony’s ruling family, as a larger-than-life procession of riders.
