I'd gone to Bempton to try to catch up with the albatross after a less than satisfactory first visit, almost 2 months earlier.
I'd been photographing Gannets and Fulmars and the odd gull in flight in front of the platform at Staple Newk, when one of the Gannets flew in and landed relatively close to the platform and joined its mate on the cliff. Both promptly embarked upon lengthy greeting and bonding behaviour. Without thinking about the camera settings (as ever), I banged off a number of shots on reflex. This is one of those photos - it had an obvious appeal as soon as I saw it back home...

We always seek the best POV of the subject, however the subject may be so different at different POVs… Am I confusing you? 😉 No matter which angle I look at this mountain, it always attracts me in its unique beauty! This sandbar disturbs the perfect reflection, but adds the charm of imperfection!
Th Bow Lake was very shallow, I was so close to the Mountain, I felt I could almost touch it... Nice to capture the whole mountain with wide length. 😊
PS: I was spoiled by all the supports from my dearest Flickr friends! Words can not express my thankfulness...!!!

To have a plan B if my original plans don't work out. In this case the fish were not biting so this will have to do...
The first year we went to Etosha we spent a month there becoming familiar with it's incredible beauty. In that month we only saw the lilac breasted roller twice . It was difficult to find and there just were not many but over the past eight years we have seen them numerous times and this year they were in abundance. I love them and found it very hard to pass one by . As a result of this I have several images this year. Each is a little different . The first year we never saw clouds but this year there were clouds every day. You can seen them in this image of the roller.

Old houses always have vibes. This one was particularly interesting. It is maintained beautifully, but has some rather strange vibes coming off of it is in an area that could be very busy. It brings nothing to the area because it’s been closed for quite some time.. i’ve always thought when I see really interesting properties if walls could talk, what would they say? This house didn’t seem to be able to share. No one seems to know the story of the closures of every business that has tried to survive in this historic building. The only comments I obtained from a couple of locals is that the place is haunted and very creepy.. one lady shared a worker has been coming and going doing some restoration and his constant companion, a small, mixed breed dog stops, staring at the door, and refuses to go in even though her owner is in there. That is a curious thing. As the little dog is quite adventurous per the lady, and always accompanies him on all jobs . hmmm
We are always looking to the future, the present does not satisfy us. Our ideal, whatever it may be, lies further on.
