So there I was, just trying to take a nice, normal thumb selfie when I get photo-bombed by this guy. But wait, that may be "fake news".... this is actually a newly hatched dragonfly that I found perched on the stairway leading to the lake and transferred to my thumb for a photo before his wings were capable of flight. In fact, alert viewers will note that his eyes remain cloudy, the protective coating still in place.
Please be advised that I neither "shoved" nor "body-slammed" him, nor did a single Russian influence me in the creation of this picture. And if the quality may be somewhat questionable, it is not because it was leaked by thousands of "anonymous sources close to and familiar with the circumstances." Rather the simple truth, without opinion, supposition, or innuendo, is that it was extremely difficult to keep the camera still with one hand while a dragonfly sat on the other. So endeth my Sunday op-ed.

Venetian Gothic building Grade II. The Former Oversears Bankers Club, designed by Architect George Somers Clarke in 1868. Like so many old buildings in London it fell into disuse and disrepair despite its Grade II listing. In 2005 the buildings new owners investment company TIgerwater, approached specialist developers Marlden, with a proposal for conversion to residential use. An apartment was recently sold for £995,000.

Onderweg naar het eerste hotel (Niederdorf, Italië) tijdens onze roadtrip vorige maand, koos Waze (de navigatieapp) plots voor een alternatieve route in het uiterste zuiden van Duitsland. En ik zeg het niet snel, maar wat is deze regio in Duitsland schitterend. De route binnendoor leidde ons door schattige dorpjes en langs prachtige meren. De foto is gemaakt in Kochel am See, waar we een korte stop maakten.

On our way to the first hotel (Niederdorf, Italy) during our road trip last month, Waze (the navigation app) suddenly chose an alternative route in the south of Germany. And I don't say it quickly, but this region in Germany is wonderful. The route led us through cute villages and along beautiful lakes. This picture was taken in Kochel am See, where we made a short stop.

Hydroelectric Power Station and Renewable Sources Information Centre The unique Art Nouveau building designed by the architect F. Sander in 1910 – 1912, which today is still a functioning and used technical monument, is the site of the newly opened information centre, which focuses on renewable energy sources. The exposition leads via a projection room onto the first floor where you can try out various models of facilities producing alternative energy or compete in knowledge games. The exposition displays the real historical Kaplan and Pelton turbines and a functional model for a safely whipping up a tornado.

2021 represents a significant milestone in the history of the Phoenix Railway-Photographic Circle with the celebration of our 50th anniversary. An alternative shot from Nanven the other day. The sunset was great if a little subtle. I found this comp right at the end of the shoot. I went for a long exposure to smooth out the water and catch those fg rocks. I am happy with how this turned out. I would like to see it as a large print as I think it has a nice space to it. All thoughts welcome.
