A drive through the Austrian Alps from Vienna to Salzburg.

Switzerland made me happy. It also made me miss living in the mountains.

Located in the high Alps this photograph shows the Monte Rosa massif in the left centre. The massif rises to 4638 metres and is separated from Lyskamm (4527m) on the right by the Grenz Glacier. To the left of the Monte Rosa massif is the Gorner Glacier into which the Grenz glacier flows. The smaller Monte Rosa glacier is located on the slopes of the massif. Lateral (side) moraine can be seen on both sides of Monte Rosa. Moraine is rock debris eroded by the glacier. Monte Rosa is the second highest mountain in the Alps.

Slovenia, Julian Alps

Steep train ride down the mountain. I like the way the warning stickers on the window relate to the scenery.

Left to right: Cervin, Tete du Lion, Dent d'Herens, Pointe de Zinai, Dent Blanche. A postcard dating from the early 1960s

Enjoy the view. That is what those mountains dictate! And I obey. :-) Gorgeous Alps....
