Happened by their location driving in from Marfa. The evening was stormy and the business had been shuttered.

Over the past seven years there have been various old cars and trucks in front of and around this house in Alpine Texas. This 1966 Chevy Nova was spotted here in May, 2024

Alpine, Texas train station along the former Kansas City, Mexico & Orient Railroad. The line was eventually sold to Santa Fe and then to several others including the South Orient Railroad whose marking (SORR) remain on the abandoned depot today.

Taken at a picnic area where U.S. Highway 67 branches off from U.S. Highway 90 about 8 miles east of Alpine, Texas. Was initially setting up for some night sky photography, but the colors of the clouds 'compelled' me to get some quick photos in. Pic taken with a Pentax K1000 with SMC Pentax 1:1.7, 50mm lens and Fujifilm Fujicolor Natura 1600 ISO 35mm film.

Construction started in 1928 and opened in 1929.

Built by Texas & New Orleans Railroad (always part of Southern Pacific RR) in 1946 in Alpine, TX to service the area that includes Big Bend National Park. The Sunset Limited stops a couple of days per week.

Taken from the parking lot of Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Taken with a Pentax K1000 with 1:1.7, 50mm lens and loaded with Kodak Tmax 400 ISO 35mm black and white film.
