the sacred buildings of Registan Place in Sarkand/Uzbekistan are full of beautiful little tiles, each color burnt separately and then stuck to the building. It is a craftsmanship that only a very few can do nowadays.
The words at top are words from the holy Qu'ran.
Arabische Kalligrafen blicken auf eine Jahrhunderte lange Tradition zurück. Aufgrund des Bilderverbots im Islam wurde die kursive arabische Schrift in kalligrafischen Kunstwerken wie Linien verwendet, wodurch eindrucksvolle Bilder aus Buchstaben, sogenannte Kalligramme, entstanden. Da in den meisten Ländern der islamischen Welt nur die Kalligraphie als einzig erlaubte Kunstform galt, entwickelte sie im islamischen Raum auch eine beherrschende Rolle in der Architektur als Schmuckelement.

After buying my 5d mark iii was really excited to go out and shoot. went past my friend's house to show him the new buy.
I saw this unique frame pinned up on a tree in his back yard that I'm sure has been there for ever but it only really caught my eye when i was looking for my next subject. Amazing how something so beautiful isn't noticed by the first glance of ones surroundings.

Something I tried a while ago..
Slow shutter + timer + a tiny light bulb + me running to the other side and writing in a reveresed way! *huuf*
Was worth it though.. ;)

گلمتنيَ أمرأة تقول : انها مسحورة ، وقد أقسم الذي سحرها أنها لن تتزوج .
قلت لها : عندي علاج لكن ھل ستصبري عليـہ ؟
قالت: نعم أصبر
قلت لها :أنا أقسم بَالله إن أخذتي العلاج تتزوجين وبالرغم عن السحر ومن وضعه!

In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The merciful
1. When there comes the help of Allah and victory,
2. And you see people entering Allah's religion in multitudes,
3. Then celebrate the praise of your Lord and seek His forgiveness, (for) surely He is Oft-returning (to mercy).
Rahman ve rahîm olan Allah'ın adıyla.
[1-3] Allah'ın yardımı ve zaferi gelip de insanların bölük bölük Allah'ın dinine girmekte olduklarını gördüğün vakit Rabbine hamdederek O'nu tesbih et ve O'ndan mağfiret dile. Çünkü O, tevbeleri çok kabul edendir.

It is a known fact that every language has one or more terms that are used in reference to God and sometimes to lesser deities. This is not the case with Allah. Allah is the personal name of the One true God. Nothing else can be called Allah. The term has no plural or gender. This shows its uniqueness when compared with the word god which can be made plural, gods, or feminine, goddess. It is interesting to notice that Allah is the personal name of God in Aramaic, the language of Jesus and a sister language of Arabic

اللـهـم اعذه من عذاب القبر ,وجاف ِالارض عن جنبيها .
اللـهـم املأ قبره بالرضا والنور والفسحة والسرور.
اللـهـم إنه فى ذمتك وحبل جوارك فقه فتنة الفبر وعذاب النار , وانت أهل الوفاء والحق فاغفر له وارحمه انك انت الغفور الرحيم.
اللـهـم انه عبدك وابن عبدك خرج من الدنيا وسعته ومحبوبيه وأحبائه إلي ظلمة القبر وماهو لاقته .
اللـهـم انه كان يشهد أنك لا إله الا انت وأن محمداً عبدك ورسولك وانت اعلم به.
اللهم انا نتوسل بك اليك ونقسم بك عليك ان ترحمه ولا تعذبه
اللـهـم انه نَزَل بك وأنت خير منزول به واصبح فقير الي رحمتك وأنت غني عن عذابه .
اللـهـم اّته برحمتك ورضاك وقه فتنه القبر وعذابه و أّته برحمتك الامن من عذابك حتي تبعثه إلي جنتك يا أرحم الراحمين .
