These images are from two very similar projects that I've just helped my friends with. They want to be able to hold bike frames on their alignment tables by the head tube. They both purchased used bench centers, and we had to make bull nose centers for them.

The fit up needed to be very close, so we were working to within a few tenths.

The other complication was that one of the centers on each set was spring loaded and utilized a rack and pinion to withdraw it... so we had to mill those rack gears.

An interesting lineup of planets and the Moon at this evening's sunset. The crescent Moon is in the top left corner, below and to the right is Venus, very near the horizon, above and to the right of the pair of street lights (likely not visible in the smaller versions of the image but show up in the original size) are Jupiter and the fainter Mercury. It's a rare treat to see Mercury, which is so close to the sun that it doesn't often get far beyond the glare to see clearly. It was a better show yesterday, with the Moon much closer to Venus and the weather much clearer, but it was very windy, and it was New Years Eve after all so I didn't get good photos.

Alignment, of place and time, is...hard to come by, hard to plan, hard to live by. But when it comes around, sets you back in that delusional state of mind that pursues dreams.

I can feel it

sometimes

in me

Something

which pretends to be looking

straight ahead

but

it is not

fully

aligned

Or not at all

A dissonant

voice

in the chorus

of my mind

Something I do

which doesn't feel

in line

with the rest

with who I am

with what deeply resonates

with what I am here for

I know

I have to let it go

sometimes it is easy

sometimes it is

long

and painful

This is when

kindness

toward that part of me

is so necessary

so essential

Listen

to it

Hear it

Acknowledge it

Kindly

And let it go

and keep going

Check it out for a weld sequence.

This arrangement of rocks on the Otsukinami Coast beach is quite temporary. The waves here even on this fairly still morning were powerful enough to roll another boulder over my foot while I was capturing a scene. Should I go back in a few days, I will surely find the rocks have been moved.

Each of the pointed corners is aligned with the one below it... All the corners form a straight line!

As a precautionary measure have an alignment check and brake check once every 6 months.

You can fiddle around with vernier gauges on either side of your rim. I prefer a custom cut piece of stainless rod accurately located using the valve hole in the rim to asses the wheel for being central. The wheel must be perfectly dished.

The consensus sequences responsible for Ada protein specific interaction (A) located in promoter sequences (up to -100 nucleotide residues relative to ATG start codons) of E. coli ada, alkA, and aidB.Additionally, the predicted consensuses in promoter regions of E. colialkB and P. putidaalkA, gcdH, alkB, and ada genes are shown (green bars). Also, the putative -35 and -10 boxes responsible for RNA polymerase interaction are marked in pink (retrieved from RegulonDB, regulondb.ccg.unam.mx) or grey (SoftBerry BPROM prediction tool, linux1.softberry.com). The phylogenetic tree (B) shows relative conservation between depicted consensus sequences based on UPGMA Geneious Tree Builder, A box – light blue, B box – brown, numbers indicate substitutions per site (for details see Materials and Methods).

On June 24, 2022 around 4:20am, a rare planetary alignment occurred in the night sky. I went to our local park to see if I could capture this moment. Here's a short video describing the four-photo panorama I created from that morning.

From left to right, Mercury, Venus, crescent moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn all aligned themselves!

Also an illegal move. I don't fully understand this, but the alignment isn't right.
