Dell is about to phase out four XPS gaming-orientated systems in an effort to prevent cannibalizing sales of systems from newly-acquired Alienware. This move reinforces the restructuring going on at Dell now that they have fallen behind HP in overall PC sales and in the consumer market where they’re struggling even to make a profit.

Alienware Aurora R3 Upgrade
Now called: ALIENWARE AURORA X99
This was given to me to Upgrade with top of the line NEW TECH.
I finally finished this one and the Owner Tyler entrusted me to do the Build. - Thank You Tyler!
This build was / is one of the hardest builds I have ever done. There is of course the Wow Factor that just keeps me wrapped up in the next move.
This rig installed Windows 8.1 Professional in a little under 5 minutes - No Kidding!
Here is the summery of Parts:
CPU:
Intel 2011 i7-5960X Processor Clocked to 4.5 GHz - I need to mention that this CPU has 8 Core but 16 Logical cores!
CPU COOLER:
Corsair H100GTX 240 mm Liquid Cooler
MOTHERBOARD:
EVGA X99 MICRO 2 (This just made the market and has the USB 3.1 ports and it has a M.2 Socket built into the board to take advantage of the PCIe Lanes 10 to 12 Gigabit pipe.
MEMORY:
32 GB 3000 MHz Corsair Dominator DDR4
GRAPHICS:
MSI nVidia 980 Ti w/ 6GB on chip
- This is a MONSTER all by itself I have never seen anything like it. This Card can NOT be pushed! Everything is in Ultra and this card just GO's
HARD DRIVE:
Samsung 850 EVO SSD O' My This is a True SSD with no left over Bandwith on a 6GB SATA III Interface This beast takes 575 MB on Write. That only leaves 25 mb on the SATA Interface.
POWER SUPPLY:
Corsair AX1500i 1500 Watts - You should see the cable that it came with... It is as big around as my Thumb!
