The Alexandra Warehouse in Gloucester Docks. It was built for the corn merchants J E & S H Fox in 1870. It was damaged by fire in 1875 and rebuilt with parapets replacing the former eaves.
On the right is the Harbour House of 1888, built to provide offices for the corn merchants Fox Clinch & Co. It was later used by the Bristol Steam Navigation Company, John Harker Ltd. and British Waterways.

flickr Photowalk #17 Crouch End & Ally Pally. The Theatre foyer. Alexandra Palace was opened in 1873, badly damaged by a fire just two weeks later, rebuilt (both times the architects were John Johnson & Alfred Meeson), and sold in the early C20th, putting it in the care of a trust whose purpose was to "maintain the building and park and make them available for the free use and recreation of the public forever". Part of the Palace was leased to the BBC in 1935, and the first regular television service was broadcast from here. In 1980, just after Haringey Council took on trusteeship, another fire destroyed much of the west side of the Palace. A planned commercial development of the building was blocked by the High Court in 2007. The theatre and the East Court, closed in 1935, were restored and reopened in 2018. Alexandra Palace is grade 2 listed.

The Fraser River Canyon has historically been used as a travel route by First Nations peoples, HBC explorers and tens of thousands during the Yukon gold rush. The first bridge on this site was built in 1863 as part of the Caribou Wagon Road; in 1928 it was upgraded for automobiles. The bridge is now part of a provincial park and used for foot traffic only.

Architect: Neave Brown, built 1972-78 and now Grade II* listed. When the estate was designed in the late 1960s it was reasonable to expect that small, independent, shops could operate successfully on-site. Since that time, a centralization of shopping and supermarket dominance has put an end to that idea. Alexandra Road residential estate, London Borough of Camden.
