Ito forwards his Communal Aggregation hypothesis as a competing idea to the fashionable kin-selection.
A Greenpeace activist holds a banner under a fish aggregation device (FAD) calling for "Marine Reserves Now". Around 10% of the catch generated by purse seine FAD fisheries is unwanted bycatch and includes endangered species of sharks and turtles. The catch of large amounts of juvenile bigeye and yellowfin tunas in these fisheries is now threatening the survival of these commercially valuable species. Greenpeace is calling for a total ban on the use of fish aggregation devices in purse seining and the establishment of a global network of marine reserves.

Tarantula Hawk wasps are stunningly beautiful and intimidating! Their sting is said to be one of the most excruciating in Nature. Their incredible size and brilliant iridescence advertise their presence and we instinctively give them space.

Dendron drawing software (2001), exploring gestural augmentation through diffusion-limited aggregation.
More than 50 nests at the edge of a forest clearing. At arrival quite a few females and males were flying around. Unfortunately a rain shower showed up almost immediately. Females entered the nests. I didn't see any males doing so. One male hid away in the litter layer of a denser vegetation nearby.
Ladybug adults hibernate, usually gathering in large aggregations in protected places.
As days get shorter and temperatures fall, ladybugs seek shelter behind bark, under leaves, or in other protected locations. Thousands of ladybugs may gather in the same location, taking advantage of the collective warmth of a colony. Asian multicolored ladybugs, an invasive species in North America, has earned a reputation as a home invader. These beetles tend to move indoors for winter, where they can become a nuisance in people's houses. Convergent ladybugs gather in the mountains in such numbers that collectors can scoop them up by the bucket.
this bank along a dirt road to Hermannsburg was badly trampeled by brumbies, so we were surprised to see the many spoil tips indicating numerous nests of Aculeata.
As it turned out these were two species of Colletid bees and a Cerceris diggerwasp. It was impossible to tell from the outside which nest belonged to which species.

A word cloud is an aggregation of all the words on a website, in a file, or in a list, organized into a sort of cloud shape where the biggest word in the cloud represents the word that appeared most often and the smallest words in the cloud represent the words that appeared the fewest times.
Since Wordle.net offers a quick and free tool for word cloud generation, I used it to make a word cloud of the words appearing in the RSS feed at democrats.org and a word cloud of all the words appearing in the RSS feed at gop.com
Would you have been able to guess which is which? There is no mention of the Constitution in either one. Feel free to use this image as your facebook cover.
