Ageing Merseyrail unit 507020 slows for its stop at Brunswick., 17th June 2022. The 15 minute service from Southport to Hunts Cross has been reduced to a half hourly service, with every other service terminating at Liverpool Central instead. All other Merseyrail routes have also seen services reduced due to a shortage of available units.
Wild flowers taken in the same fading light as the previous one. The light keeps the image soft but I like the effect.
Experimenting with colour adjustments in Lightroom. This is another image of the dying tulips in my studio, colour adjusted using Aged Photo pre-set.
A decided change of pace for those Flickr friends who have had too much Halloween horror.
"Love ageless and evergreen
Seldom seen by two
You and I will
make each night the first
Everyday a beginning
Spirits rise and their dance is unrehearsed
They warm and excite us
'Cause we have the brightest love
Two lights that shine as one Morning glory and midnight sun
Time... we've learned to sail above
Time... won't change the meaning of one love
Ageless and ever evergreen...
An old favorite, redone with up to date PP tools, and safely viewed LARGE.

I bought some tulips from the supermarket a couple of weeks ago. This is the third image I got from them but the first I've got around to posting.
Sorry for my absence, a combination of lack of time, inspiration and motivation...it's certainly not a lack of props ;)

A rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae. There are over three hundred species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing, or trailing, with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwestern Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Roses have acquired cultural significance in many societies. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height. Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses. S_8577
This rich and dense smattering of stars is a massive globular cluster, a gravitationally-bound collection of stars that orbits the Milky Way. Globular clusters are denser and more spherical than open star clusters like the famous Pleiades. They typically contain hundreds of thousands of stars that are thought to have formed at roughly the same time.
Studies have shown that this globular cluster, named NGC 6139, is home to an aging population of stars. Most globular clusters orbiting the Milky Way are estimated to be over 10 billion years old; as a result they contain some of the oldest stars in our galaxy, formed very early in the galaxy’s history. However, their role in galactic evolution is still a matter of study.
This cluster is seen roughly in the direction of the centre of the Milky Way, in the constellation of Scorpius (The Scorpion). This constellation is a goldmine of fascinating astronomical objects. Hubble has set its sights on Scorpius many times to observe objects such as the butterfly-like Bug Nebula, surprising binary star systems, and other dazzling globular clusters.

I saw this house when we were wandering around Barcelona, some years ago. I loved the colours of the wall and the ripped netting.

The hydrangeas in my garden are slowly fading but this particular blue one has some fantastic colours and tones in the decaying flowers.
Amtrak's ageing 'Genesis' diesel-electric locomotive # 138 is now 25 years into service. However, she was given the new 'Phase V11' paint scheme just a couple of years ago.
The company's Sunset Limited service is seen here approaching Houston from Los Angeles. The onward journey will be to New Orleans. The total journey of 1995 miles takes around 48 hours.....if you are lucky.
We had to be very careful to keep up-to-date with the online train trackers and get lineside at the right time so that we didn't miss it. Why? It is because the greater metro area of Houston is at least the size of Greater London. However, there are just 6, yes SIX, trains per week through the city, three in each direction. So if you miss the train it is a long, long, very long wait for the next one!
By comparison, London Waterloo, just one of the capital's main rail stations, has data showing that in 2024-2025 it had 8508 scheduled passenger rail services per week i.e. 8502 more than Houston!! That's not to mention the numerous other London overground rail stations, underground Tube stations, buses etc etc. I think you get the picture !
Ageing is even a more complicated issue for gurls like us... In our heads we see ourselves as beautiful and blossomed women, but the devilish camera often shows us the bare and sad truth of our (well at least mine) situation :((
The male features are not helping at all... Damn !! ;)
This shot was taken during a nice cam session, with really educated viewers and some creepy ones (that's the fun part). It wasn't awkward at all, maybe I shall do it more in the future :D
Hope you're all doing well

P.S Too bad you can't see the shoes, they are killers :)
It’s 9pm which means Love Island is on and therefore time to go watch some paint dry, clean the litter tray or maybe have a look at a Cornish cathedral!
The music I link is usually something I actually listen to unless it that abysmal offering from Clint and tonight’s probably wouldn’t make it on to one of my playlists but it’s the perfect example of why Elmer Fudd shouldn't be encouraged to venture into a recording studio.

Two ageing class 315 units sit side by side at Liverpool Street on 9th December 2020.
Not gone yet....but not long to go for these BREL Derby stalwarts, now some 40 years old. These TfL examples are employed M-F mainly on Shenfield services.
Stuck over on the far side of the station were 315826 & 315843 with 2W52 1000 departure to Shenfield whilst 315 838 & 315847 departed shortly after the shot was taken on 5C48 0953 ECS to Gidea Park CS.
The sets couldn't have been more symetrically parked if you tried - they were centimetre perfect alongside each other!
