i purchased this little treasure a few years ago on eBay. there were actually 2 of them in the auction, so i gave one to my mom for Mother's Day that year.
the opals are actually free "floating" in the glass pendant. if i had to guess, i believe the liquid is oil, because the bubble and the opal shards move slowly through it.
i love this little thing so much! but i'm scared to make a necklace out of it... so it's hidden away safely. ^_^

The BrynOh's Virginia Alone build really struck me when I first saw it. I took time to read about Virginia's story. I listened to her recordings and walked through the gorgeous recreation of her home. The years of life lived deep inside her own mind inspired me and I really wanted to show the beauty that was also part of her world, both the things we could see and the things that were purely hers...alone. I saw an entire realm inside her reality, things existing where they should not have been but once noted where exactly right and made more beautiful from the brightness of her imagining. I do not feel her condition is lovely from a conventional point of view but I think there were moments of beauty and they deserved to be captured, These pictures are my dreams, my wishes for her, that she saw points of time like these.
Maple leaf floating on Price Lake
Taken on Oct. 9, 2009, at Price Lake Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway (milepost 296.7)
The objective of the assignment was to incorporate a whole figure in an image. I took inspiration from mythological paintings, which depict a range of poses. The result was a woman whose dreamy qualities are accentuated by the background of lotuses. The use of graphite and white conté creates visual harmony across a range of tones, complementing the mid-tone provided by the dark paper.

Sydney backstreets on a Spring afternoon:
-A cough in the distance
-Cutleries clunking in a kitchen
-Water dripping from limestone walls
-Smell of spaghetti and leaking gas
-Voices from a television
-A pigeon gliding across the sky
-Spring breeze brushing across my skin
-Cracks on red brick walls and concrete slabs
Warmth.
Bubble bath.
