Pre-construction Phase: top floor. This small office was full of old papers and other clutter that had to be cleared. Many of the walls had built-in noticeboards which had to be stripped off during the pre-construction phase. Similarly, the shelving, though we were glad that much of this could be reused and went to other libraries and local organisations. The hole in the floor is part of the asbestos survey work.
After the refurbishment, this room will be a small interview/consultation room.

WEA Herne Bay Branch organised a guided walk along the seafront on Saturday 20th June to mark Adult Learners’ Week 2015. Free and open to all, the walk was an opportunity to learn more about historic buildings and places of interest, and to introduce the WEA to new participants and members of the public. It was led by Ken Hando, an ex-councillor and long time resident of Herne Bay with a special interest in local history.
