No, the yellow-jacket wasp has not been adopted by the bees, and has not decided to switch colonies. It is simply seeking a little protein at the expense of the honey bees. I saw a few wasps at the hives, but didn't see any successful predation.
Found in the Gardens at Ault Park at Cincinnati's east side. Gardener's adopt a plot at the park install and maintain plantings of their choice.

En la anterior fotografía de mi gata, hablando de la comunicación no verbal de estos bellos peludetes, os conté aquellos gestos con una interpretación positiva, pero, con sus gestos, también nos dicen cuando están mal, enfadados o incluso con un mosqueo que no veas. Os cuento:
“Me aburro”: Los gatos tienen sus ratos de aburrimiento. Tola, como la mayoría de los gatos de apartamento, lo demuestra pegando carreras sin motivo aparente, adoptando posturas propias del acecho para, a continuación, esconderse tras una puerta y “atacarte” cuando pasas.
“Estoy empezando a estar harta”: Si cuando estas interactuando con tu gato observas que se pasa la lengua por la naricilla, te está diciendo que está empezando a cansarse de lo que sea que estéis haciendo, que ya no le apetece.
“Déjame en paz, vale?”: Su cola en constante y rápido movimiento, como un látigo, indica que está empezando a perder la paciencia. Si además echa las orejas hacia atrás, mejor que lo dejes tranquilo. Está harta y a punto de huir, arañar o morder.
“No me haces caso”: Pueden tener varias formas de demostrarlo. Tola, cuando estoy trabajando en el ordenador, se sube a la mesa y se sienta no permitiendo que siga con lo que estoy haciendo. Ojo con intentar que se vaya. El arañazo está asegurado. Se va cuando lo cree oportuno ¿Quien contradice a una emperatriz?
“¡Qué susto!”: Si tu mascota se agazapa en un lugar protegido y eriza la cola es que está pasando miedo. Observa qué es lo que le puede estar asustando. Tola es consciente del sonido del timbre del interfono. Automáticamente se esconde debajo de le mesa del comedor. Si a continuación suena el timbre del piso, pasa a un espacio que considera más seguro: debajo de la cama.
"Déjame dormir": A los gatos les gustan los mimos antes de dormir, pero en el momento en que empiezan a lamerse es que ya están preparados para el sueño. El inicio de sus abluciones, generalmente empezando por las patas delanteras, es la señal de que lo único que ya quiere es dormir. Dale las buenas noches y déjale tranquilo.
Hay más… Os invito a que descubráis lo que vuestro gato os dice con sus gestos y poses.

La couleur isabelle chez un chat est fascinante et rare, avec ses nuances crème et roux pâle. On dit que ce nom provient de la reine Isabelle, qui aurait fait vœu de ne pas changer de chemise avant la prise d'une ville. L'histoire raconte qu'à la fin du siège, sa chemise était devenue de cette couleur particulière. Ainsi, ce terme a été adopté pour désigner la robe chatoyante des chats de cette teinte unique.
Ok.......... she's one of the cutest puppies I've ever seen! About 8 weeks old and up for adoption. She's being fostered by my client's daughter and mate. She's so new, she doesn't even have a name yet. She's paper trained and she's pretty mellow for a puppy this age. I'd adopt her myself but I already have three and two of my three are special needs. But if I were looking..... she would be a huge contender. So cute!

A second group of older ducklings seem to have "adopted" this wonderful Mom. There are at least another 10 ducklings hiding underneath her wing. Note the size difference among the ducklings.

Tefiti and her brother Pua are hanging out with us for a few weeks and are providing me with good opportunities to take out my camera!

We just adopted two brothers who needed a home. They are older cats and seem to be taking to our strange ways.
Thank you for your many condolences on Maggie's passing. Yesterday was a very hard day, but in a way I am relieved that her suffering is over. I did come view some of your pictures, but I didn't feel up to commenting on them. However, I shall start trying to catch up today. I wasn't planning to post anything until I was at least a little caught up, but then all of a sudden I got a call from a lady interested in Mocha and Morris.
She came and met them and told me she would think about it and let me know tomorrow. She came back half an hour later with a cat carrier and away they went to their new home - together.
About a month ago, I found this kitten along the center divider of a busy freeway. I had worked a grave shift and I was tired. In order to stay awake, I was driving with my windows down on that cold morning. In between the road noise of the cars passing me on the left in the carpool/HOV lane, I heard a desperate "meow". I glanced over to see a tiny kitten in need of help. I almost kept going but decided to go back to help her. Once I was able to coerce her into my tool bag, I dropped her off at the local animal shelter where she was cared for and recently became available for adoption. Long story short, we have adopted her.

This Pit-Sharpei mix was looking for a new family to adopt him at the HonFest in Baltimore, Maryland, this past weekend. He seemed like a very happy dog and could not wait to be taken home. Hopefully, he will find a family at the end of the festival!
