From 'Street Life in London', 1877, by John Thomson and Adolphe Smith:
"The removal of dust and refuse from the houses of the metropolis is a task which devolves on the officers of the various parishes. Although the duty of collecting dust is not always discharged to the satisfaction of householders, it must be admitted, when the gigantic nature of the work is taken into account, that there is very little ground for complaint. In the parish of Lambeth alone there are about 40,000 rateable houses. Each house is calculated to contribute on an average three loads of dust in the course of the year, so that the accumulated annual refuse of this section of London would form a mound of no mean proportions. In this parish matters are so arranged that a dust-cart is supposed to pass each door twice a week. The faithful observance of this and other rules depends jointly on the men themselves, and on the efficient supervision of foremen set over them. These foremen are in the pay of the vestry, while the men and carts are hired by the day from a contractor. The rubbish thus collected is carted away in part to "shoots" found by the vestry within the area of the parish, and in part to the Thames, where it is deposited in boats hired for its removal at one pound sterling per load."

Oil painting reproduction of William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s “Dawn” by Jo Ann Willis executed with Alchemist Mediums.
William-Adolphe Bouguereau (November 30, 1825 - August 19, 1905) was a French academic painter. William Bouguereau was a traditionalist whose realistic genre paintings and mythological themes were modern interpretations of Classical subjects with a heavy emphasis on the female human body. Although he created an idealized world, his almost photo-realistic style was popular with rich art patrons. He was very famous in his time but today his subject matter and technique receive relatively little attention compared to the popularity of the Impressionists. La Vierge au Lys Oil Painting by William Adolphe is one of his famous paintings.

Most of the sculptures of the upper and lower portals were destroyed during the French Revolution, but between 1855 and 1870 the sculptor Adolphe-Victor Geoffroy-Dechaume was able to recreate it, using 18th century descriptions and engravings. One of the major works he recreated was the tympanum over the portal of the upper chapel, with a figure of Christ giving a blessing, with the Virgin Mary and John the Baptist alongside him. Two angels are behind him, holding the crown of thorns and the cross, the most famous relics of the chapel. On the lintel below, the sculpture depicts Saint Michael weighing the souls of the dead, with those sent to heaven on his right and those damned on his left.
The Sainte-Chapelle (Holy Chapel) is a royal chapel in the Gothic style, within the medieval Palais de la Cité, the residence of the Kings of France until the 14th century, on the Île de la Cité in the River Seine in Paris, France.
Construction began sometime after 1238 and the chapel was consecrated on 26 April 1248. The Sainte-Chapelle is considered among the highest achievements of the Rayonnant period of Gothic architecture. It was commissioned by King Louis IX of France to house his collection of Passion relics, including Christ's claimed Crown of Thorns – one of the most important relics in medieval Christendom. This was later held in the nearby Notre-Dame Cathedral until the 2019 fire, which it survived. Along with the Conciergerie, Sainte-Chapelle is one of the earliest surviving buildings of the Capetian royal palace on the Île de la Cité. Although damaged during the French Revolution and restored in the 19th century, it has one of the most extensive 13th-century stained glass collections anywhere in the world. The chapel is now operated as a museum by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, along with the nearby Conciergerie, the other remaining vestige of the original palace.
This panorama was constructed using Photoshop CC to stitch together horizontally two portrait-oriented images.
Additional information on Sainte-Chapelle may be found at Wikipedia.

The Broken Pitcher
1891
Oil on canvas
Signed and dated lower left: W-BOVGBEREAV-1891
Well known as a defender of conservative, academic values in 19th-century art, Bouguereau rose to prominence in the 1850a. An influential teacher at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, his work displays the idealism and decorative quality typical of paintings shown at the official Salon. Influenced by Italian Renaissance masters during his stay in Italy, he became a superb draftsman who produced works with a smooth and refined surface finish that contrasts sharply with the naturalism of his Barbizon and Impressionist contemporaries.
Peasant imagery, particularly young and pretty peasant girls, obsessed 19-century artists. However, The Broken Pitcher is based on a famous 18th-century composition of the same title by Jean-Baptiste Greuze. The sexual symbolism of the broken pitcher is made more explicit by the girl’s plaintive expression. Bouguereau’s sentimentality softens the harsh realities of peasant life, portrayed more brutally and honestly by Gustave Courbet and Jean-Franҫois Millet.
