I have to admit............ I'm a paper-addict. As long as I can remember I have to feel paper, to smell paper, perhaps in my early childhood have been eaten it ;-)

And since I discovered origami, it got even worse........ I never seem to have the right paper for the model I'm folding ;-)

This is just a SOOC of paper-foil.

For the Macro Mondays theme: Guilty Pleasure.

A very Happy Macro Monday everyone ;-)

I admit that I often talk to the little birds. It's far from the dumbest thing I do, and they are very good listeners.

I must admit that I wasn't very interested when the STS group of photographers visiting Skye decided to go to Isleornsay (Eilean Iarmain in Scottish Gaelic). Although the light at this location can be excellent, I lacked a long enough lens to do it justice - so many thanks to Mark Waidson for kindly lending me his 70-300mm lens. The light certainly did cooperate on this occasion, lighting up the snow-covered Beinn Sgritheall (974 m) on the mainland and the lighthouse on a small tidal island. The lighthouse is one of the Stevenson lighthouses, built in 1857. It was automated in 1962, became privately owned and is now used as a holiday let.

You gotta admit, it's in a great location..;) I actually caught that Sea Gull in flight but I did add the clouds. What! That's what Photoshop is for isn't it.

Here's what the Internet says:

Corpus Christi is the ideal location for Landry's Seafood Restaurant– a Gulf Coast legend of its own. From Landry's picturesque location, an actual boat docked right on the waterfront, diners enjoy great indoor and outdoor views, fresh Gulf seafood, succulent steaks and the sweetest desserts. Seated right on Shoreline Boulevard, in the shadow of Downtown

I admit that I had planned another kind of photo of my chess pieces but it seems that my cat didn't like the setup. He jumped onto the chess board, chess pieces were flying all over the place and he was obviously very pleased with himself. I gave up and took a photo of the "slightly" modified scene. Cats always win ...

Posted for the Smile on Saturday theme "Tabletop Game Components".

I must admit that I have a bit of a problem well 2 actually 1) I cannot pass a book shop without going in and 2) I cannot go into a Garden centre and not come out without loads of plants.

I went in for Cat food (they have a pet centre) and came out with this lovely little Aquilegia oh and a "few" other plants.

Hopefully will be able to get new shots soon.

I admit I was bored, I needed to shake up - everybody was taking the same shot at this popular spot. After a few sets of bracket exposures, I started to play with my camera. This Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) ended up with a fun effect.

Have to admit, this is a bit of self-indulgence. Last week I had cataract surgery on my left eye. Tomorrow it's the right. I have had such fun with images like this -- covering the non-surgery eye, then covering the surgery eye. I would not have believed the difference. Makes me wonder though about folk out there with cataracts who view our images. I guess I could also wonder about folk with lousy monitors. Seriously. Aren't these great colors?

I will admit that lately I have been more off rather than on here on Flickr, but that's just because of traveling. And it will stay like this for the most part for the next 3 weeks or so. However I did find some time today to go through the pictures I have already taken and I wanted to post something that is very "Greek-summer-y": an island's port with many fishing and sail boats. Quite usual sight in Greece during summer. This is Aigina's port (barely over an hour away from Athens by ferry) and at the background you see Moni island. I hope you all are doing well. A visit to other people's streams to catch up is due and but it might take a little longer to happen. Take care!

Louise Lake, Mount Rainier National Park, Washington

I have to admit I have been rather envious of the gorgeous images that numerous Flickr contacts have been posting lately of their trips to the stunning Canadian Rockies. So this past weekend I made a visit of my own to Louise Lake. No, not that one 😄 Just a much less famous namesake, tucked away in relative obscurity in a glacial cirque off the Wonderland Trail in Mount Rainier National Park.

Sitting just down the road from the iconic Reflection Lakes, this Louise has no roadside parking, nor signage for it other than one small sign on the trail with an arrow saying "Lake Access". Most park visitors who see it do so from above, from the viewpoint at Faraway Rock along the Lakes Trail. Having seen that view on a hike a few years ago, I had wondered about getting to the lake itself. Since I was in the Reflection Lakes area on Sunday, I consulted my map and from that it looked like the lake was accessible via a spur trail from the Wonderland. So I headed down the trail (and I do mean DOWN, as there was a significant elevation drop to the lake, which meant a long climb back back up on the return trip). Beautiful fall foliage lined the edges of the trail, views of Tahoma peeked through now and then, and through breaks in the trees the lake was visible below, shimmering brightly in shades of blue and green. And I saw no other hikers on that section of the trail (and only one other person at a distance while I was at the lake), which is almost miraculous on a sunny and warm October weekend at the Park.

After starting to wonder at one point if I had missed the turnoff to the lake, I finally saw the sign pointing to the spur trail, which was a narrow path full of rocks and tree roots, and clearly not as frequently used as most other Mount Rainier trails. But at the end it opened up to that sandy shoreline and autumn colors that can be seen below in this photo and I spent a wonderful hour enjoying the lakeside sunshine in near solitude.

Must admit, I’m not entirely sure what this is, I think it’s some kind of beauty scrubby thing! Anyway, I’ve always thought it looks kind of cool, so I lit a small section of it with an orange gel.

HMM!

Have to admit I did not spot this one Richard the keeper pointed it out to me (I didn't believe him at first as you never see this stoat doing less than 60 mph) but be does look very sweet - the Stoat not Richard that is tee hee.

Our fourth excursion to Iceland was in the month of May after previously travelling there in August, December and February. I have to admit that May appeared to me the most glorious time to visit this enchanting island. Seasonal change is everywhere and one gets to see a vast array of scenarios between deep winter (in the highlands) and advanced Spring (in the Southwest mostly). Here one more impression from our travel along the Northfjords.

In the back on the right hand my better half was looking for herons. In fact she found about 20 sitting in the treetops of some scotch pines.

www.flickr.com/photos/mirjana_sesar/

She had the 300mm on MFT that I was missing on my smartphone. I have to admit in this regard these little wonder devices can not compete and will not in the near future.

I admit that the title of the photo is confusing. I was on the last weekend on a horse jumping. I think horses are wonderful creatures. But I do not like equestrian sports. So I tried to find subjects that could be found on the edge of the event, but nevertheless have something to do with horses. If you look closely, recognizes with a little imagination in the two lenses horse and rider.

I admit that even with all the travels through Iceland I have never seen a place with more changeable weather than the Lofoten islands. We were out today for about six hours and saw changing weather moods, sweeping weather fronts, brilliant winter sun, sun dogs, ominous dark skies, storms crashing down, again bright sunlight, blizzard with a dark, yellowish-grey light everywhere, fog making the entire landscape disappear and ten minutes later bright sunshine and a picture postcard landscape. This really blew my mind :)

I admit to being very clumsy and sadly I managed to break this stopper from an expensive crystal decanter. Needless to say, 'her indoors' was not amused.

Have a great Monday everyone. HMM

I admit that I saw the movie (coughs) and I will not deny that I didn't like it (coughs again)... and seeing the beautiful pose from Dan and Kimmie and hearing the song from "The Weekend - Earned it" I came up with this one here...

I named the foto after the pose so the pose is called "50shades darker" and im pasting the link where u can find it...

I must admit I find these water tanks interesting but realised I knew little about them. The ones with these cross patterned panels I've seen before, so I looked to find out more about water tanks in general.

I found this company:

www.braithwaite.co.uk/

...,and I've learnt so much from looking through their website. Sometimes, photography expands your knowledge of things most people see, but don't notice.

I admit to spending a ridiculous amount of time on this today, I must have changed it 100 times in PS. I am finally content with this version...a lot of work for a Mallard, it just got out of control, once I start I can't stop. Now that I have the background complete expect to see it again, perhaps with a more dramatic bird flying in :)

Have to admit the D700 struggles just a bit with dynamic range in a scene like this -- probably the reason multiple-exposure HDR became popular about 10 years ago, when this generation of cameras was state-of-the-art. No worries, it's still become my favorite camera to shoot with.

I hope all are having a great week.

Ok I admit this is not my normal type of photo, but it was so funny. This is just east of Sisters, Oregon. I have driven past this "yard art" many times. This time we had to turn around, even though it was pouring rain, and go back and get a couple of shots. Who says Oregonians don't have a sense of humor? There are four more horses in front of these but we only had time to shoot this before traffic started coming.

I must admit I love photographing pears more than eating them. They have the most wonderfully curvy figures and they look good from any angle...in any light. Especially warm sunlight, which brings out the golden brown tones of these two kissing Beurré Bosc pears.

I must admit to not really having any idea about bird photography or any wildlife for that matter. How hard can it be? Whack the ISO up and a fast shutter speed....erm nope Adrian, there is substantially more to it than that!

Two things I'll remember for next time.

1. You don't need to lug every last bit of kit around with you.

2. Try to be upwind of the gannets. They stink!

Really enjoyable afternoon though wandering around the cliff tops seeing what works and what doesn't work. Huge learning curve. Definitely need to work on my panning and also identification.

I admit it ... I'm a sucker for following paths and trails in forests, just to see where they go. Even the smallest deer trail can sometimes to great views or lovely waterfalls. There is something about the next peak or curve that pushes me on, no matter how tired I am, to see what is over that rise or round that corner. Unfortunately, though, I sometimes forget to take into consideration how much time and energy it takes to get back :(

…I must admit, orange is not my favorite color. But I live in New England and we get a lot of orange in the Fall. Most of the trees have lost their leaves to wind and rain, but I found this little oasis on an offbeat path. The geese were resting and the sun was warm. Probably my last orange image for the year…unless…

I admit I love this kind of pose. Tidda doesn't hold still for long, though, so I had to throw myself into the sand and be very quick to get this shot.

I admit to taking a lot of shots of this little guy, he would get a load of bugs, disappear for a few minutes then return and start collecting again. Not sure how many young he and the Mrs were feeding but this kept up for the 2 hours that I was there. The Mrs kept her distance where the male came right up and perched on a stick beside my kayak and had a good look at me...I almost missed the shot I was afraid to move!

For me these moments are precious, wonderful to record them but if I miss the shot I still have had the experience. Oh how I love these moments totally immersed in nature.

Chocolate Donuts OK I admit it, I am addicted to them, so there now ya know! Found in North Carolina.

Ok, I admit it. I loved the first Heaven. And then I changed windlight and then, Oh dear. I took more pictures and fell in love with this one! Now I don't know which I like. Let me know your choice of you can.

I must admit to a bit of a fixation over all things clock-related. Large grandfather clocks, petite watches, doesn't matter. This is an old pocket watch with its insides on display. How beautiful those mechanisms are! And how sad that we aren't using these gorgeous timepieces in our every day lives any longer.

Macro Mondays - "Back In The Day". HMM!

7 Days With Flickr - "Anything goes Mondays".

I must admit that this shot started in my head Friday morning as I watched the news and weather running the treadmill. They were showing the cold front would be passing Baltimore around 7pm on Saturday with thunderstorms. I have been wanting to capture some lightning over the river and piers for some time ... but just have not had it happen on a nice Saturday when I am not working all this past summer. Finally the odds were getting to be in my favor.

I watched the radar on early Saturday afternoon and saw how the cells were lining up along the cold front, and it looked like one would be passing by just to the very southern edge of Baltimore. Perfect alignment and track to get some lighting strikes in the right direction ... without being in the direct path of the storm. Here I was on the edge of the storm and it was just lightly raining on me.

Timing was perfect too with the lighting, just as blue hour was beginning after sunset.

As I have also been hit by lightning once (when I was 17), needless to say I was not going to set up the tripod out on the pier. I was close enough as it was!

I'll admit it. I am a self-proclaimed RENThead. I have seen this show more times than I care to admit. Last night, I saw it again. This time it was at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts

in Costa Mesa, CA. The show was part of the RENT 20th Anniversary Tour and was, by far, the best performance yet. So, after seeing the show, I was inspired by some of the lyrics in the song "Seasons of Love" to use in my photo today.

"Five hundred twenty-five thousand

Six hundred minutes

Five hundred twenty-five thousand

Moments so dear

Five hundred twenty-five thousand

Six hundred minutes

How do you measure - measure a year?

In daylights - in sunsets

In midnights - in cups of coffee

In inches - in miles

In laughter - in strife

In - five hundred twenty-five thousand

Six hundred minutes

How do you measure

A year in the life

... well, I must admit I've lost count of how many times I've posted variations of this shot. I just hope you can forgive me for posting another one because at the moment, with the weather being what it is, I don't get many opportunities to take the camera out. And the only guys that seem to be willing to play model for me are Lutz and Selina at Tierpark Sababurg.

I have to be honest and admit....it is a particular challenge giving you Christmas images. In twenty something years....no children... the tree and things of that nature are never here. Always on the go to visiting others for Christmas and this year is no different. I am pleased to say I get to meet my brothers children(the one that passed away). They are coming from Taiwan to my fathers house and Christmas there. I am so excited and can hardly wait. BUT the challenge is pictures of Christmas....so shopping yesterday I happened upon this.
