The two car garage was built up and attached to the original (1947) house. This view shows the work shop (lean-to sort of thing) and the windows above are to the room that will be a sewing studio.
In addition to the oral and poster sessions, we are curating an ad-hoc documentary-style exhibition of works and artist statements to be displayed in the same hall as the scientific posters. The selected works show how art can generate new perspectives on urban ecology but also directly confront issues such as landscape degradation, urban agriculture, land-use and environmental justice.
This blanket has a couple of nice additions that I wanted to point out...
First, we're willing to match your colors even if it's not available in the flannel we usually make the blankets out of. Black isn't a color carried in the flannel, so we chose a nice anti-pill fleece to fill our client's needs. We won't substitute something that heavy as the back, but we will do the borders at no extra charge.
Second, we did a basic sashing on this blanket. It adds about 12" to the overall length and width and costs $60 extra. We like to match the sashing with the fabric on the back. Because we did add some extra squares, I believe the cost for the sashing was increased by $10 to cover the additional costs of fabric.
Third, she opted to add five additional shirts to create a new column. This added 12" to the overall width and cost $25 extra.
Lastly, I decided (instead of scrapping some nice parts of her shirts) to add in a few shirt pieces to the border. This is no extra charge.
The overall dimensions was something around 87" square... so it was very, very large. This quilt cost $220 with a rush order charge (I completed it in 2 days).
Hever Castle's history spans 800 years, evolving from a 13th century fortified manor house into the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. It has extensive Tudor additions by the Boleyn family.
It was bought by the wealthy American William Waldorf Astor in the early 20th century, but today is owned by the Guthrie family. There are Italian style gardens and a lake.
I went the steampunk route, and fashioned a portable time machine and the contents that belonged to Timecorps Agent 8, inventor of the technology.
This long path caught my eye as I traipsed about SE Portland with my brother after dinner this evening.
