Christmas shopping, and I found some small branches sprayed with sparkling paint .... and they still glitter in the sunshine. Here they give a bokeh background to a delicate golden yellow tulip.

Today I was spoiled for choice. Decided to select this one for Peggy because we were talking about shelling peanuts before. This guy is quite adept at doing this which means, no work for me. Yes, I know you are envious Peggy :-)
I posted him despite the fact that he did not pass the "crisp" test, because this was the only one that showed the tongue action indicating his love for peanuts. And yes, perhaps he would prefer to eat the squirrel instead but those are off limits in this area.
And no guys, this is not a trapping shot. These peanuts are really meant for the squirrels and Blue Jays.

Key information
The pied wagtail is a delightful small, long-tailed and rather sprightly black and white bird. When not standing and frantically wagging its tail up and down it can be seen dashing about over lawns or car parks in search of food.
It frequently calls when in its undulating flight and often gathers at dusk to form large roosts in city centres.

Where and when to see them
Pied wagtails can be found across the UK, leaving some of the highland and northern areas of Scotland in winter. They are best looked for near water and can be found in most habitats, even town centres. They gather together in large roosts, sometimes in towns, often assembling on roofs beforehand.
All pollinators seem to be addicted to these tiny flowers, coming back to them over and over again !
