Chasing the Milky Way rainbow can result in lack of sleep, yawning during work, red eyes and an obsession to do it all over again the next night.
Taken from the southeast coast of Maui next to the Wai`opai Bridge after sunset. Milky Way rising over the cloud enshrouded Big Island of Hawaii on the horizon. I think the rainbow effect is from the stuff in the air and the remaining light from the sun and stars.
The conditions were a bit nasty with gusty winds, an occasional drizzle and waves pounding the shoreline creating a lot of salt spray. I had to wipe the lens twice.
Headlights from passing truck lit up the rock wall. Not many vehicles were on the road this night.
