How funny you are today New York
like Ginger Rogers in Swingtime
and St. Bridget's steeple leaning a little to the left
here I have just jumped out of a bed full of V-days
(I got tired of D-days) and blue you there still
accepts me foolish and free
all I want is a room up there
and you in it
and even the traffic halt so thick is a way
for people to rub up against each other
and when their surgical appliances lock
they stay together
for the rest of the day (what a day)
I go by to check a slide and I say
that painting's not so blue
where's Lana Turner
she's out eating
and Garbo's backstage at the Met
everyone's taking their coat off
so they can show a rib-cage to the rib-watchers
and the park's full of dancers with their tights and shoes
in little bags
who are often mistaken for worker-outers at the West Side Y
why not
the Pittsburgh Pirates shout because they won
and in a sense we're all winning
we're alive
the apartment was vacated by a gay couple
who moved to the country for fun
they moved a day too soon
even the stabbings are helping the population explosion
though in the wrong country
and all those liars have left the UN
the Seagram Building's no longer rivalled in interest
not that we need liquor (we just like it)
and the little box is out on the sidewalk
next to the delicatessen
so the old man can sit on it and drink beer
and get knocked off it by his wife later in the day
while the sun is still shining
oh god it's wonderful
to get out of bed
and drink too much coffee
and smoke too many cigarettes
and love you so much

As the trees in the Hudson Valley start to change colors some added color is tacked on in back of a normal CSX leader. B706-21, an empty ethanol train, was combined with some freight cars from another northbound manifest freight, to give this 626 axle B train a different look. Taken along the west shore of the Hudson River south of Newburgh NY on Sunday 10-21-2023 at 2:09PM. CSX SD70MACe 4546, CN ET44AC 3099, CN ES44AC 3863. Thanks to Donald Conklin and the local railfan community who provided timely info on its northbound progress. Howard Kent Jr.
Part of a fantasy flight that United volunteers were setting up for children who had boarded a flight that morning for Colorado Springs and were about to return to 'the North Pole'.
For some of the children it was their first time ever on a plane. Some were terminally ill and others were financially distressed. It was sure to be a good day for them regardless.
The lock had moved away from the hot-melt glue but not enough to allow access to the key-hole.
Nevertheless, I did the right thing for the sake of security and appearance.
FFlic added a splash of colour to Pattaya as they hosted their very own FFlic Orange Pool Party at their luxurious Cliff and Pool Club.
As with all the FFlic events you know you are in for a treat and this was no different. A mass of Orange everywhere gave a real warm feeling as you entered and really set you off in a good mood. To compliment the beautiful setting were the beautiful Galaxy Girls all dressed to thrill and ready to party the night away. It was nice to see so many people join in with the theme and wear orange, a great colour to set off your tans!
Dennis Frost got the atmosphere just right with his subtle but effective mix of music to get FFlic into the party mood. Special drinks promotions kept the beers flowing and everyone who attended had a really great time!
