Still looking extremely respectable following its naming back in 2019, 90028 'Sir William McAlpine' is paired with 90040 as they head towards Acton Bridge station with 4M25 0606 Mossend Euro Terminal to Daventry.
Class 90s are back in favour at the moment with DB (and subsidiaries); this train and the Northbound working are rostered for a pair of them along with the forthcoming Grand Central workings.
Freightliner 57004 passing Acton Turville on 13/04/04 with 4O51 10.08 Cardiff Wentloog-Southampton Millbrook. For several years this train was notorious for being poorly loaded, so this was a good load at the time.

A clean 70006 is seen at Acton Bridge running 34 minutes early with the 1330 Runcorn to Northenden empty waste train.
Now fortunately preserved on the East Lancashire Railway the Hymek has just crossed the River Thames with returning six wheeled milk empties and a van for churns.

What struck me with this photo is the way the dark part of the push-chair continues the arc shape of the tree shadow - the line is almost perfect.

Resplendent in the livery carried when introduced in 1976, 43002 leads a Bristol to Paddington service under the A40 at Acton.
I really need to get a small step to keep at the office, as the bridge parapet is rather too high - very grateful for 'liveview' on the camera's LCD screen!!!!
On my way home from Snowdonia last Wednesday I decided to make some good use out of the fine weather. Unknown to me West Coast operated 34046 Braunton was due through my chosen station of Acton Bridge. Th only downsides were the fact that it wasn't due until 9.00pm and then platforms were pretty crowded.
It has been a good while since I last saw a steam engine pass by at speed and most impressive it was.

GB Railfreight unveiled the new look for Class 66 No. 66793, marking another Class 66 to have a heritage livery and is one of the five locomotives to be imported from Germany thanks to the partnership with Beacon Rail Leasing.
The new livery, British Rail Railfreight Construction livery, is to show appreciation of the contribution made by aggregate and construction companies to keep the UK moving.

Seen just seconds after the sun dipped behind a cloud, On hire to ROG, 20118 & 20132 are seen approaching Acton Wells Junction on the 11th of May 2020, working the 07:36 5Q76 from Ely Papworth Sidings to Newport Sims with yet more redundant HST stock going for scrap!
For the record the consist was 6338, 46005, 41132, 46004, 42560, 42040, 41028 & 6330.
