An active region that was rotating out of view off the sun's western limb, displayed a dazzling variety of dozens of spurts and eruptions in about 2.5 days (Apr. 19-21, 2014). The frames, taken in extreme ultraviolet light, show ionized Helium not far above the Sun's surface. All of the activity near this region was caused by intense magnetic forces in a powerful struggling with each other.

Revelation Energy's Sunny Knott mine in Lackey, KY hasn't loaded in a few months. But former NREX SW10 1287 has been re-numbered LOC 1 & is waiting for the time when it will be called upon to spot hoppers for loading.
Built in 1953 as UP SW9 1826, it was rebuilt (Sep92) by UP-Omaha as UP SW10 1240, retired in mid-1998 & sold to Connell Leasing (Jul98), leased (Oct99) long-term to CP Rail, repainted & renumbered CP 1287, but returned (2002) due to reliability problems, to NREX 1287 (May05) & placed in their lease fleet.
It has been leased to various coal companies since & may've been sold to Revelation Energy.

A little late for Marchikoma, but a fun build nonetheless. Whipped this up while waiting for schoolwork to render over the weekend, mainly from the parts of a disassembled Hibernia build! Really enjoyed getting the chunkiness balanced out, hope you guys enjoy!
Like any good tourist, I had to take a picture of this historic monument. It's not anything too brilliant, or magnificent, but it is a quaint, even respectable landmark to commemorate Active World's narrative of when the world was born, and who was its first citizen. There's a bit more that would be interesting to know, such as who this first citizen was in the real world, and what their relation to Active Worlds was. Was this Cy person part of the team that created Active Worlds, or is this the first unique individual that signed up to become a citizen? A lot of questions, just from one statue and its simple homage.
Note: I have come to consider places like Worlds and Active Worlds as being open virtual worlds. These were the pioneers of virtual spaces on the internet, and among the first to quote Snow Crash, even begin to coin 'metaverse' and web3.0 in trying to explain what they are.
