Dr. Quinzel: “Coase not. But they always die from some reason er annuda. But I said probably. Maybe you’ll break the coise.”
Carol: “I… I don’t believe this…“
Dr. Quinzel: “Well I don’t usually eitha. Coises and such. But this one ain’t failed yet.”
2nd week of my project 52.
Theme of Reflections...... so I kind of had a bizarre twist to the theme, and I don't care if no-one gets it. (I bet someone mentions the no genitals, not very funny)
I ain't got time to do anything else
Today I got this trio of guy dolls! I found the G.I. Joe and the blonde guy in one shop. The blonde has a very nice head, but his hands are the hockey gloves, so he might need to be switched to another body, as dressing him could be tough. The G.I. Joe has a broken arm under the length of tape, so there's that, but oh well!
In the other shop, I spotted what looked from afar to be the James Dean doll and I nearly lost it with excitement, but it was actually the Dylan doll from the Beverly Hills 90210 series, in his complete costume(!!!!!!!) I love his handsome face and expression, and was very happy to get him!
Also found was a doll sized bridal veil, a Disney Hercules' Pain figure and a doll briefcase (with a towel, phone and disc player inside it !!!)
"It is essential that you succeed in getting that chip back and all the stolen cloning research Dr.X has.., Do you understand Jake?"
Carol: “Maybe our goals are a bit different.”
Dr. Quinzel: “Oh, that reminds me. You’re probably gonna die.”
Carol: “Wot!?”
"We beter keep moving Jake, you never know what is lurking around here!" advised Jenna.
"Yeah, we don't want to bump into one of the bigger ones, then again, the small dinosaurs aren't exactly easy to deal with either!" whispered Jake.
After many moons stalking the " mad dog bastard Trevor " across the mighty back garden. Lionel the Great Lion Hunter master of the hunt and disguise bagged his prey with his favorite rifle " Thumper " ( which dear papa give him ). God save the King!
I recently had these 5 figures re-flocked professionally by Flock Concepts and have been very pleased with the results! The flock jobs on these figures are waterproof ( I have tested this claim already and found it to be true) and seems to be very resistant to rubs. I highly recommend them!
From left to right:
1) This figure began life as a spare vintage Land Adventurer head I had lying around after using his body to complete my Bulletman figure. I experimented with reflocking him myself, then decided to have it done professionally and make him into an Action Man Adventurer by putting him on a Cotswold body.
2) Began life as the Timeless Collection Man of Action that came with the "Black Spider Rendezvous" set. He is wearing a vintage uniform from "Secret Mission to Spy Island". Unfortunately, the flocking on the Timeless Collection figures is rather poor and his hair started to rub off after putting on/removing the rubber cap that comes with the Spy island set a few times. Bored with having so many identical MOA figures I decided to have him reflocked as a blonde.
3) A figure I acquired a number of years ago in a trade with 8 Skeins of Danger. It is an attempt at a reproduction "Hard Hands" Man of Action since the GI Joe Collector's Club never saw fit to come out with one. It is a Timeless Collection head on a 40th Anniversary body. His hair was starting to thin in the front whenever his cap was removed, so he had to get flocked too.
4) "Wal Mart' Man of Action from 2007. These figures were great deal for the price. But unfortunately after only a few years and very light play, mine have already started to shed their hair, revealing painted hair beneath.
5) "Wal Mart" Land Adventurer. I have him dressed in the style of the vintage German "Hard Rock" character. Like the other Wal Mart Adventure Team figure I have, his hair was starting to shed, so he needed a good reflock. I had him lay it on nice and thick to give him more of a vintage feel.
The Adventure Team has been sent to Southeast Asia to investigate sightings of a new species of wild Tiger Striped Canines. The Land Adventurer checks through the saw grass to see if one is in the area.
Uhoh... I sense trouble brewing!
Two recent additions to my Shelves of Evil; The Red Skull from Hot Toys and Sideshow's new Cobra Commander figure (here with his alternate hooded sculpt).
"So, I call on all members old and new, to have parties and post pics from your HQ's! Let's celebrate together! Here's to the next ten years!"
Jake and Jenna make their way further into Dinosaur Valley, moving swiftly and quietly, hoping not to be noticed.
Experimenting again with the crumpled brown paper rock effect.
I know this is not the original Action Man but I dug out my son's from his bedroom just for the photo. I spent many hours as a kid in the garden with my collection of soldiers and tanks with there eagle eyes and real hair. these modern version don't look as good and are a lot slimmer !
Even my boy has long since stopped playing with them and moved on to the Xbox and Call of duty !!
I wonder what happened to my collection , oh I know my mother is obsessed with cleaning so any clutter would have been binned from out of our bedrooms !
They would be worth a few quid now ...
