Blogs, tumblr & facebook frequently feature endless

bad photos of the blogger. Tagged “GPOY” (Gratuitous Picture Of Yourself) they are very often self-portraits – either the camera held at arm's length from the face

or an underpants (on or off) vanity

in a grimy bathroom mirror.

The photo you see here is RARE!

LOL! Let me explain:

You see, this figure is wearing the complete uniform from the 2004 (40th anniversary) GI Joe convention.

And I'll bet that you'll find a LOT more photos of this uniform still on the card, than actually in use on a figure!!!!

Think about it...the uniform was issued at a convention of collectors. Collectors HATE to unpackage a limited item. Well, the uniform is useless to me in the package...so here it is in full display.

Now, I'll bet if you search...you'll not find any other photos of this uniform actually on a figure. Which, in my opinion, makes this opened uniform package much more rare than a mint on card uniform!

ACTION MAN

J'adore Action Man, Action Joe, GI Joe.

I love Action Man, Action Joe, GI Joe. Every time I see one I adopt it. This one is an Action Man. It was made in England by Palitoys and has "eagle eyes", meaning that they move from right to left using a handle on the back of the skull.

I’ve always wanted to have this British version Atomic Man. However, it was not so easy to find one in good condition with the box in good price. However, I persevered and found one I like back in 2011. Though the uniform is missing with the eagle badge, I have a spare one! It is real good to see Mike Power with the life like hair and he looks very 70’s and I like it! Palitoy not only added life like hair but also an Atomic Heart Pacemaker to the original U.S. version and with the different uniform this guy looks quite different from the original! Released in 1977. I like him so much! 💖😁💖

1976 - I don't lok at all happy, but I've got my Action Men, I appear to have got a bit of sun, what could be the problem? Surely not that shirt?

Fig is a 60's Action Man, the uniform is a 40th one, can't afford the original just yet ;P

'General Custer wore a whitish gray hat, with broad brim and rather low crown, very similar to the Cowboy hat, a fringed buckskin suit, blue 'sailor' shirt and red scarf. He was armed with a Remington Sporting rifle with an octagonal barrel; two Irish Constabulary issue Bulldog self-cocking, white-handled pistols, with a ring in the butt for a lanyard; a hunting knife, in a beaded fringed scabbard; and a canvas cartridge belt.'

During battle there is little time for flamboyant parades and full millitary honours. But this German officer takes the time to decorate some Wehrmacht soldiers in the shelter of some bushes and empty buildings, for their bravery during their last mission and taking over an important bridge.

My dad bought me an Action Man from the thrift store. :3

Huge battery-operated enemy of Action Man with original box. This thing had remote control and glowing eyes. Turns out all the batteries have leaked and it is a bit of a mess. Cool though.

Rediscovered in Mum's attic during an exploration earlier today.

With original 60's rubber wet suit! Annoyingly I didn't notice the zip had flipped up but it's the YKK classic.
