Accurately dated!

I have recently redesigned my USN C-2A(R) Greyhound to include featured that I had missed in my original version. This has allowed for a more accurate and sturdy build, making a better looking swooshable model.

If my information is accurate, I believe this is a second year Bald Eagle. He resides at the Conservancy near Port Dover Ontario and was a lovely model. It's amazing to see these incredible raptors up close.

Many thanks for your visits and comments, always welcome and always appreciated. Have a great day

The way these fuckers look right now unless they were burned then I'm really off base.

A 99% accurate drawing of the map of Middle Earth from the Lord of the Rings, my favorite book series/movie trilogy of all time! My wonderful parents helped me draw the whole thing, so shout outs to them. They’re the best.

The railway town, or perhaps village is more accurate, of Melton Constable in Norfolk lost most of it's importance with the closure of much of the former Midland & Great Northern Railway from 28 February 1959, closing completely five years later.

The Railway Institute was built in 1896, and extended in 1912, by the railway for the benefit of its workers as reading rooms, wash rooms and general recreation until the closure of the railway works in the early 1960’s. At that point a group of local people (and by then) ex-employees banded together and bought the freehold of the Railway Institute from the British Railways board, and formed a trust under the name of the Country Club that endures to this day.

Just received this master piece and enjoy Saturday night painting it. This is really a significant add on to my Iron Man collection. The details are super and accurate to the real one. Hope you guys like it and I suggest getting it soon before out of stock.

Our share for the new round of A Tattered Page, the virtual book club of second life. For the July round the choosen book is "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. We decided to create the "Book of accurate Prophecies" for this one.

The Book and Pedestal are LI 4/4 Prims and a pure decor item.

A Tattered Page starts 7th July and runs the whole July. Landmark to the Library: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Port%20Seraphine/161/109/302

This is an accurate reproduction of a 1911 design, built in 1964 for the movie 'Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines' and now operated by the Shuttleworth Collection.

She is seen displaying at the collections ‘Flying Festival of Britain’ airshow.

Old Warden, Bedfordshire, UK

6th June 2021

The following information is from the Shuttleworth Collection website:-

“Alliot Vernon Roe was one of Britain's most famous early pioneers and later set up the famous AVRO company. From 1910 he started designing and building a series of triplane aeroplanes. He decided on the triplane layout, rather than the more conventional monoplane or biplane, as the triplane layout provided the extra lift that he required. Four triplanes were built and provided valuable experience for later aircraft designs. Both the Avro 504 and the Tutor can trace their ancestry back to the Triplane IV. All have high aspect ratio wings (meaning that the wings are much longer than they are wide - this helps to produce more lift). The Avro Triplane is a replica built by the Hampshire Aeroplane Club at Eastleigh, Southampton for the film 'Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines'. During the making of this film it was found to be a very impressive flyer and so the Trustees decided that it should be acquired to add to the Collection. During the winter of 2000/1, the Avro Triplane was completely stripped down and restored. During this time the opportunity was taken to reapply the markings that the Triplane wore in 'Those Magnificent Men'.”

Not 100% accurate but i'm happy with it !

Well, the weather forecast for Kananaskis for yesterday, 24 September 2019, was not exactly accurate - sun, with cloud in the afternoon. They kind of forgot to mention the strong wind, light rain .... and SNOW! For a few minutes, it was one kind of weather, then a few more minutes of a different kind, repeated throughout the afternoon.

Our temperatures are falling - forecast for rain tomorrow, rain and snow the next day, then two days of snow with temps down to 0C and -1C. What a way to celebrate the first few days of fall. The expected snow will probably remove quite a few of the golden leaves, so I wanted anther chance to see and photograph them while I had the chance.

The sky was blue when I set out yesterday morning and I felt quite hopeful. When I go to Kananaskis, I always go south from the city. I had no idea where I would be going, but I knew that it wouldn't be as far as I would have liked. As it turned out, I had a few surprises along the way, so it was a real mixed day of photo opportunities - my favourite kind of day.

After stopping to take a few scenic shots on the way to the main highway through Kananaskis, I eventually reached the area where the American Pikas live. I really lucked out almost straight away, as the only few photos I took were when one Pika showed itself, and that was within maybe ten minutes. By this time, the wind was strong and it was snowing, and it was cold! Time to get out of there, as the scree slope is treacherous enough on a calm, clear day.

Driving further north, I was delighted to see a convoy of maybe a dozen beautiful old cars heading in my direction. Couldn't resist, so I followed them when they turned off into a small picnic area. I asked if I could take a few quick photos and they were happy enough for me to do that. One car owner did comment about blurry photos because of the falling snow, but surprisingly my photos came out sharp enough.

Further on, I made a quick stop at another pull-off and was happy to notice a few mushrooms. When I turned around to head for home, I was even happier. I pulled over to take a photo of one of the mountain peaks. One tiny white speck in the distance, just off the road, caught my eye. When I went to check it out, I found myself staring at a little group of Shaggy Mane/Ink Cap mushrooms. The largest one had already started the process of curling up the rim of its cap and dripping a black ink. So much rain this year has resulted in such an amazing fungi season.

Much closer to home, I decided to take a side road that has such beautiful hill and mountain views. An old wooden barn was a welcome surprise - I don't remember seeing this one before.

So, a lovely day out, driving 320 km, with such a mixture of weather and sightings. So glad I did decide to go - as usual, a very last minute decision, but basically, I just need to grab my cameras and go : )

I think that title is quite accurate! I am showing off quite a bit of luscious leg here, aren't I?

Well, this isn't a very accurate recreation, but I hope it's at least recognizable enough. The sides look a bit too high, I'm not sure why. This model owes a lot to both the famous Porsche 930 by ZetoVince and that more recent Datsun 240Z by _Tiler. No illegal connections, the black one has like three parts that don't go in black, but the rest is 100% existing colors. That cop car was highly inspired by "Alarm for Cobra 11" show.

SHIPtember - Seriously Accurate swag.

Like my new singing Tiana, I decided to tweak my singing Aurora up a bit to make a more movie accurate. 1st I decided to make her skirt a little bit longer by adding the bottom half of another old Briar Rose dress I had (it's currently being held together by tape:P but I'm definitely planning on sewing it to give it a neater finished look/I also noticed that her new skirt is slightly longer than her animated counterpart so I'll definitely hem her skirt a tiny bit to give it the perfect length) I also added a black "headband" (really a ribbon) to finish her look.

The fact is that historically accurately Jesus wasn’t born anywhere near December 25. Christmas is now so commercialized that decorations and sales advertising now start as early as September as I saw in some places this year. But the festive sights and setups, like this tree at Tanger Outlets, Riverhead, on Long Island, New York, give plenty of great things to photograph. This photo was taken on an iPhone X and a couple of Adobe Photoshop apps on iOS helped brighten the otherwise dreary, cold and cloudy day. To my true Christian values practicing friends, who actually live by the messages of peace and justice, Merry Christmas; to all other decent people, Happy Holidays ahead.

When viewed left to right, the signage here quite accurately spells out the sequence of events that will lead you to a life altering night. Of course it starts before this when you meet that attractive stranger in the casino bar. Next comes a little liquor, imbibed in copious amounts because of the the discount price. After that, things get a little fuzzy, at least until you wake up the following morning, next to a stranger, with your head banging like a drum, a bulldog tattoo on your buttocks, and a cheap ring on your finger. And the beauty is, you had to walk no more than 50 feet to git er all done. That's what I call one-stop shopping Reno style.

Sixty two years ago my folks eloped, and got married in Reno. I wonder if they have some tattoos in places I've never seen. Hmmm....

Happy Slider's Sunday everyone.

Red-knobbed Coot - a more accurate name but less graceful than the previous moniker of Crested Coot. I had only ever seen a couple of distant individuals in Andalucia before. I had been on a disasterous to trip to Valencia where I was to photograpg birds at waterholes in this arid region. Unfortunately it has intermittently poured down for the last few weeks and didn't stop raining on any of my scheduled hide days. A quick change of plans took me to El Fondo Nature Park near Alicante where I got amazing views of over a dozen of these amongst Common Coot, Moorhen and Purple Swamphen. It is a great and very easy place to bird with lots of interesting species but, for me, these were the stars.

Yep, me :)

The most rapid progress in genetic improvement of a goat farming is achieved through accurate and effective buck selection. On average, a good male can have a genetic influence over about 250 kids during his working life, compare to female that passes on her genetics make-up to about maybe 15-20 progeny in her lifetime. So, with that in mind I am standing in the middle of grazing paddock in a goat farm somewhere in New South Wales, full of high quality Boer bucks. And i am amazed by the size of the farm and the quality of the goats. This is things that i can only dream of back in my country.

More accurately EX Nottingham City Transport as the 'Nottingham City' has been removed but 'Transport' has been left on except on the top rear where the full title remains, probably because it was out of reach for removal. A MOC is never truly finished, there is always a way to improve it.

As I was taking those last pictures of my Spinner, I was thinking of a comment by someone on Cuusoo, how the lights seem to crowd the roof to much. I looked into it and lo and behold, I got it completely wrong! So here is now the updated version with new lights. I am still not 100% satisfied and may refine it still. I also redid the sides, adding a bit more detail. I was able to squeeze in a token wheel too. I will have to redo the back now, perhaps lengthen it by a stud, if i can find an elegant way to do it. Markings are done in PS. I must get me some proper decals.

This face is kind of weird. She doesn't exactly look hopeful which I think is what they were going for, but it's also kind of a disgusted look. She's squinting a little bit too much, but it's still really accurate to the character and it is rather gorgeous.

Anyway, since it is a rather unpleasant look, I figured this would be the time for a side by side look at the dresses. 😜 I do wish that my dress had a slightly darker cape, but not nearly as dark as the stock dress.

A tiny, historic state park in Stevensville, Montana is the location

where this capture unfolded or, more accurately, it unfolded in a pasture on the way to Fort Owen State Park in the town of the same name. The historic site is surrounded by a large ranch in the Bitterroot Valley, a small piece of state property surrounded by private property, very much a rarity. A little gem of a place.

The park, only one acre in size, is named for Fort Owen,

a mission and later a trading post established in 1841 and named for trader, John Owen. Being one of the first permanent establishments in this section of the Bitterroot Valley in the mid- nineteenth century, Fort Owen is known as the "cradle of Montana civilization", as the nearby town of Stevensville is referred to as "the place where Montana began."

As to the horses, while heading out to run a few errands in town,

I spotted one of these three equines galloping solo through the snow as I was driving by, apparently, just for the fun of it. I would have liked to have captured that scene but, instead, too late for it, I had to settle for a pull-in and a short session with these handsome creatures just lounging and grazing about. No more galloping on this day.

For the record, those would be the foothills of the Sapphire Mountains in the background, the same range of mountains that make up the eastern boundary of the Bitterroot Valley.

The Bitterroot Mountains make up the western boundary. Study up. There could be a pop-quiz on Friday.

I worry about uploading another ancient picture that wasn't taken by me, especially one that may be well known to some people, but it's where I have been spending my time recently, restoring old images and working up accurate captions, and there is a photographic twist here, too….

It's from an old CCQ slide that's a copy of an even older slide from 1937 that shows "Royal" D16 No 8787 pausing on the slow line at Welwyn Garden City (the principal expresses tore through on the centre roads) with a train to King's Cross. It's always been captioned as a fabled "Cambridge Buffet Car Express", but it's not. The whole story and a ton of detail is on my website, here's the salient bits:

During the late 1930s the LNER fleet of locos and carriages was still three-quarters pre-LNER and, in this case, we have an ex-GER loco and ex-GNR carriages. The train is a secondary express without catering making selected stops along the way - it's actually the 2.4pm from Cambridge, which was rostered for one of the unique pair of apple-green "Claud Hamiltons" kept in tip-top condition in case a royal train needed to be hauled from Sandringham, and was deployed on this secondary working to earn its keep and ensure its reliability.

Relatively old carriages were deployed - the most prestigious expresses got the new stuff! - and the oldest one here, behind the tender, was 32 years old. The fabled varnished teak so lovingly represented by most modellers like fresh pine has aged to the colour of an old leather satchel while the once-white roofs are clad with soot. This is what nearly all LNER trains actually looked like. You just can't tell from the b&w pictures. Still perfectly harmonious, but different.

For photographers, the spotless loco was an enormous magnet and there are countless pictures of this train in LNER days, probably making it the most photographed after the truly elite Flying Scotsman! Indeed, as can be the seen, this isn't so much a train picture as a loco portrait with a few carriages thrown in for good measure. The style hasn't exactly disappeared, has it? :)

Details: The original concentrates on the loco even more with space ahead of it and more sky, which I cropped a little for the sake of balance. Website www.steve-banks.org, see under "Prototype and Traffic/LNER coaches",

Hi everyone, Alex here with a more accurate version of Jay ZX.

I saw a lot of people cut stickers to customize their minifigs, so I've attempted to make Jay's armor shine by cutting up tiny stickers from the set 41129✂

Maybe I'll continue to cut stickers for customizing figures...
