Building on the ‘Ecosystem Landscaping to advance the Accountability to implement the Women’s Empowerment Principles in ASEAN’, the WeEmpowerAsia programme, UN women jointly develops and will disseminate the Building Pathways to Gender Equality and Sustainability through the Women's Empowerment Principles: Thailand Policy Brief (hereafter referred as ‘Thailand Policy Brief’) with key partners, namely the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Office of SMEs Promotion (OSMEP).
Gender Responsive Procurement (GRP) is one of the initiatives recommended in the Thailand Policy Brief. GRP can identify, incorporate and support women business owners seeking to access government/corporate procurement contracts. In support of the initiative, UN Women and Kenan Foundation Asia will host the “IDEA to I do”, a business presentation competition for selected women entrepreneurs, to showcase the capacity of WOB and WLB developed under WeEmpowerAsia Programme as means to promote women’s participation in supply chain. Winners will receive the WeRise Awards and the prizes are comprised of one winner, one first runner-up and one second runner-up.

Earth Day 2023 - Youth Vs Apocalypse - San Francisco
On Earth Day, hundreds of youth showed up at SF Civic Center Plaza and the CA State office building with demands to protect their futures.
From the organizes at Youth Vs Apocalypse:
"Youth from across the Bay Area are demanding that Governor Newsom be held accountable for not protecting our communities.
1. We demand that the state of California stop investing in fossil fuels through public pension funds and that Governor Newsom supports SB252.
2. We demand that Governor Newsom hold PG&E accountable to people and not profits.
3. We demand that the state of CA support Migrant Justice as a part of Climate Justice and speak out against Biden’s plan to jail immigrant families.
4. We demand that Newsom protect frontline communities from fossil fuel extraction by ending all new fossil fuel permits in the state of CA, drop existing production sites, and make sure there are at least 3200 feet between toxic oil drills and people’s homes and schools."
This is digital art, an illustration that I created from (digital) mixed media. I made the original version back in 2005. I started with everybody's standard photo of the Hollywood sign. Then I used Painter to do some cut-and-paste and hand-lettering to change "Hollywood" into "Accountability". (The point was that "accountability" had become an icon.) Since 2005, this image has served as a profile picture and as a logo on a web site. This morning I had to get it ready "for the big screen": not as in Hollywood silver screen, just a power-point presentation at a conference. This wasn't an easy task because the image was at such a low resolution that it would look too blurry in a slide presentation. So I opened the older version in Painter and after some trial and error, came up with a quick solution (quick so as to be done before the flight to the conference). I used the selection tool to sharpen the image of the sign and the hillside, and then I posterized that same area. Then I softened the focus of the sky, to get rid of pixilation markings. Despite my standard complaining about "the role of the artist in American society," I've grown fond of this image. And as they say in Hollywood, it's good to be famous.

The 6th Annual Devolution Conference held under the theme “Deliver. Transform. Measure.: Remaining Accountable” organized by the Council of Governors in collaboration with other stakeholders’ including National Government Ministries, Agencies and Departments, Development Partners, Non-Governmental organizations and the Private Sector.
Prior to the 5th ADC, Devolution Conferences were held to discuss general/global successes, challenges and solutions in the implementation of the devolved structure in the Country. The Steering committee of the 5th ADC decided to change the conference modality and use a sector-based approach while at the same time retain the general/global perspective structure. These resulted to adoption of a four (4) sector breakaway sessions mirroring the Presidents Big Four (4) agenda together with a general cross cutting discussion in the conference.

On February 12, 2020, USC IIGH hosted Joel Lamstein, president and co-founder of John Snow Inc. (JSI), for a talk titled “Issues to consider in implementing global health programs”.
Good research and policy analysis is taught to students and undertaken by universities and “think tanks,” but far less emphasis has been placed on how this research and policy gets translated successfully into action on the ground. The lecture will shed light on the issues that make implementation difficult, what it takes for interventions to be successful, and the role of good management and accountability structures to make this happen.
