365 Project - Day 37
I finally got to go out and do some more creative portrait work, and I couldn't be happier!
This photograph is of my fiance, James. I had a lot of fun with this shoot and with putting the lights into the shot thereafter.
I hope this photo makes you stop and think for a moment, or at least makes you pause to scratch your head. ^^
Thank you so much flickr members, all who view.

Testing multiple iPads to interact with one digital screen. Pairs of children can manipulate text and image snippets independently and they'll be accumulated onto one large screen to discuss.
The colours of the smartcovers correspond with the used labelled colours in the app to distinguish pairs and their snippets.
Tricky to get a pleasing shot with a 50mm lens (not so wide) and getting something interesting in the frame. Lately I'm paying a lot of attention to small additives in my compositions such as animals, people, layers, hand etc. They add dynamics and interest to an otherwise more boring photo.

Took this with my cell phone. This is the lobby of the hospital that I had my surgery in this morning. Had to have a kidney stone beat up. :) www.baptist-health.com/locations/accesspoint.aspx?accessP...
Hamid: What's that?
Rambo: It's blue light.
Hamid: What does it do?
Rambo: It turns blue.
No, it is the blue light-emitting diode of my cisco wireless LAN access-point. It´s pretty bright, so that the surroundings remained black. You can see the structure of the plastic surface.

If you want to have internet when you are visiting South Korea, you should rent one of these devices. In some countries, they are called mifi devices, Koreans call them egg (because of the first famous model was egg shaped and coloured).
They are using the 4G network technology called WiBro, which is a sort of spinoff/merge of Wimax.
It cost us 8000 won/day the first 10 days, the days following only 4000 won. Data usage is unlimited.
The model KWF-B2700 that we got worked very well. To use it, just turn it on, it will create a wifi WPA2 protected accesspoint. SSID and password are printed on the device and you can connect 7 devices at the same time.
It will however not always last 9 hours as advertised if you use it much. It felt like it was more like 6-7. However, if you make sure to turn it off whenever you don't use it, you can squeeze out much more. It boots very fast. About 10 seconds. It charges via a normal micro usb charger. I brought a Belkin Battery Pack 2000mAh, mostly to extend the battery life of my phone. That worked great for this device as well.
It hanged once. Looked like it was turned on, but no network visible and the power button stopped working. Just a reset with a paperclip on the back helped.
The network has good coverage in the big cities, even in the subway system. We were mostly in Seoul and Busan. It stopped working when we took a tour to the North Korean border and the connection was very spotty on the KTX train between Seoul and Busan. It also has pretty limited coverage whenever you are in a basement.
The High Line’s signature “slow stairs” rise up from street level at the corner of Gansevoort Street and Washington Street. This corner is also the future location of the Whitney Museum of American Art’s new facility.

TP-Link WA801ND Repeater to OpenWrt - Wireless Settings
TP-Link TL-WA801ND Access Point configured as Repeater to OpenWrt - Scan wireless networks from PC
I used two Wi-Fi adapters - one is built-in Ralink RT2500 11g mini-PCI, and second is TP-Link TL-821N Wireless USB stick (Atheros chipset), working in 802.11n 300Mbps mode
You can see on screenshot Ralink RaUI и TP-Link Wireless Utility
As you see, there are two 'OWrt' SSIDs, one is original and second is repeated by WA801ND Repeater.

TP-Link Wireless Utility.
Как видно, утилиты обнаружили два SSID c названием 'OWrt', оригинальный от OpenWrt и второй - повторенный WA801ND как Повторителем
Where the High Line emerges from a former meatpacking plant at 14th Street, “slow stairs” rise from the sidewalk, supplemented by an elevator. The stairs bring visitors up between the High Line’s massive steel beams, while their legs and feet can be seen from the sidewalk below.
The High Line’s dramatic curve westward along 30th Street is augmented with an access point, with the stair intersecting the structure and rising up through it.

For the access points at Gansevoort Street and 14th Street, sections of the High Line's steel beams are removed to make room for the "slow stairs" that will bring visitors up through the structure itself.
www.mrnordstrom.com . This is my home office setup. The one on the left is my girlfriend and the other is mine. On the desk is my MacBook connected to an external monitor and behind the monitor is an 80 GB firewire drive used for backup.
Under the desk is an equalizer an a fileserver with 240 GB of storage, remotely administred. These three computers are connected to a switch which in turn is connected to a wireless accesspoint, and the internet.
Wireless comfortability as well as a stationary solution.
