The OEM accessory mounting bolts on my Salsa Beargrease forks are numerous, black, Allen-hex head cap screws. I have thought since I first saw them that they looked somewhat more utilitarian than I liked. Then I saw some nice button headed bolts on a friend's bike forks: it inspired me to hunt up prettier looking bolts. *I* think they look nicer, most people will hardly notice I'm sure... LOL!

Probably my favorite thing about customizing blythe dolls is creating and putting together all of their accessories, so fun!

At Recyclart, we love driftwood Art and so, we loved the creations of Jennifer ! We called it "Happiness Driftwood" ! :)

Congratulations Jennifer, you win the 2nd prize of our little contest, a nice pair of recycled glass earrings offered by our partner Eco-Artware !

Hello everyone,

I`m in love with driftwood. Since summer 2012 I create things with this wonderful material.

I create sculptures, Jewelry and articles for decoration.

I can' t stop to see things or faces in the wood an to paint on it with gaudy colours.

I also create glas elements, for example the eyes of the monsters or beads for the Jewelry.

So, I hope you enjoy it!

Today is accessories day!

My 13 year old is starting to accessorize. The kid has good taste... Not unhappy at all.

All of my bento goodies have now arrived and I found this brilliant storage box to keep them all in from Ikea

BOX DATE: 1979

MANUFACTURER: Mattel

DOLLS IN LINE: Starr; Shaun; Kelley; Tracy

MISSING ITEMS: Harmonica, phone, comb, soda, rollerskate

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I still am in shock that I not only got my dream Tracy WITH her outfit, but also some of her accessories! I found all these goodies with my doll in 2019, contained inside a battered, crushed white doll case. Tracy and Starr's jackets look almost identical. But Starr's wrists and waistband have elastics in them, that give the cinched in effect. Both gals also have the same red socks. I admit that their strange body molds make the pair difficult to dress--their rubbery legs are tricky to pull the bodysuit over. I was most surprised to find cardboard Starr accessories floating around the case. At first I thought they were really awesome clone accessories from the 1970s. I was set on keeping them anyways, but Colleen informed me that they could belong to Starr and co. She was looking through our "Thirty Years of Mattel Fashion Dolls" book as we were digging out the contents of the case. I had no idea that the dolls came with books, since the boxed photos in the book are grainy. We also got shoes too--sadly this rollerskate doesn't have a mate! Either way, I never thought I'd find any of the dolls' outfits, let alone some of their delicate accessories...I feel so very lucky!

Weirdly, the glass dome came preassembled. Perhaps because back in the day Lego thought that girls couldn't be bothered to build anything.

BOX DATE: 1996

MANUFACTURER: Mattel

DOLLS IN LINE: Barbie; Teresa

MISSING ITEMS: Hair accessory

SPECIAL FEATURES: Reversible dress

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I really wish I could remember which bin this dress came from, but sadly time has erased that memory. I do know that we did not get it from the "Bratz Shoe Bin" where our Blossom Beauty Barbie originated from. We did, however, get this gown not long after. Barbie only had to wear a borrowed birthday inspired dress for a few short weeks/months, before this turned up. Ironically, Barbie herself had almost been trashed since she was decapitated upon arrival. But Colleen vouched for her after assessing that Barbie's head had simply come detached from her body, and the ball was just floating around inside it. After Barbie's initial clean up, she looked good as new. So she was definitely a very worthy contender to be reunited with her factory getup. I recall Colleen's excitement when we found this dress among a throng of other dolly goods we purchases. She immediately recognized it as being for Blossom Beauty Barbie. This gown is spectacular!!! I adore how it has so many separate flower petals, and that there is a wide variety of vibrant colors. There is so much visual interest and appeal about this gown, and it looks like no other in my collection! I also realized that it could be reversed after doing some research. Personally I prefer the colorful side. But if I got a duplicated doll and dress, I could showcase both options!

Vintage image of a 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle with a replica 1941 Ford Hood Kit. Meant to make you look twice. At the time there was also a Rolls Royce Hood Kit that seemed to be more popular. This found photograph is from the private collection of an unknown and/or unknowing art collector. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!

Managed to buy the final accessories for my Monthly Project outfit, which will be shown in all it's glory in December!

This blingy belt came from the Chest Heart and Stroke Charity shop in Hawick. Teamed with the jumper, trousers and cap for the overall effect.

Deboxing my Pullip Dal Tinker Bell 10'' Doll. The seal is broken, and the inner box is removed from the outer box. Tinker Bell and all her accessories are attached to the inner box. There is an instruction sheet for assembling the doll stand on top of the inner box.

Review of Pullip Dal Tinker Bell 10'' Fashion Doll

The Pullip Dal Tinker Bell doll is a smaller version of a regular Pullip (which is about 12'' tall). She is 10'' tall, about the same height as the Disney Store and Disney Parks Tinker Bells. She was originally released in 2009, and is made by Groove. She is based on the Peter Pan animated version Tinker Bell, rather than on the Disney Fairies version. I love her little pout! The packaging is also beautiful.

She comes with many accessories, which have to be assembled. This means that she isn't really meant to be displayed in her box. The accessories include a doll stand, a large green cloth bow for her hair, a purse with a green vine strap, a stiff character card with a large portrait image of the doll, and on the reverse information about the doll (mostly in Korean). Finally she has a set of beautiful purple mesh wings, that are decorated with yellow jewels. It snaps onto the back of her dress. It keeps its shape very well, due to having a wired border. She has a very nice outfit that is close in design to the animated character. Her satin dress is one piece, with the bodice sewn to her leaf skirt, which is decorated with tiny silver beads. She has white mesh tights, worn over green cloth panties. Her iconic shoes are green velvet, with fluffy white pom poms.

As with all Pullip dolls, her head is about twice as large as would be proportional to her body, and she has a small mouth and nose and very large eyes. Her lips are light pink, and are in a closed mouth pout. She has rooted eyelashes, but her blonde hair is a wig. Her glassy blue green eyes can move side to side by the use of a lever hidden under her hair in the back of her head, just above her neck. Unlike regular sized Pullip dolls, the Pullip Dal dolls cannot blink their eyes. She has a greater degree of articulation than even the Disney Store Designer Tinker Bell. But her head can only swivel about, and not tilt. Her skin is much paler than either the Designer Tink or Parks Tink. Her overall look is that of a woodland sprite.

I am very pleased with my first Pullip doll, and will very likely get more of them.

Purchase Details

I got my very first Pullip doll, the Pullip Dal Disney Tinker Bell 10''. I got her brand new from Amazon. I ordered her last Thursday (April 16, 2015). She currently costs $80 and with Amazon Prime shipping was free and took only two days from ordering to arrival!

BOX DATE: 2002

MANUFACTURER: Mattel

MISSING ITEMS: Cardboard candlestick, soap, 2 nail files

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I distinctly recall the day I got this awesome Accessory Bonanza set. It was sometime in early 2001. Dad, Mom, Colleen, and I were on a shopping excursion. I believe I found this set at a Walmart, along with Pretty Princess Barbie, and a Fashion Avenue outfit. I must have had allowance money set aside to buy it all. It was shortly after my Memere moved in with us. I don't know if it was the same day or sometime after, but I remember being at Home Depot looking at bathroom fixtures with Mom and Dad. They planned to put a bathroom in the basement, since Dad had moved our bedrooms down there. Colleen and I played with our dolls in Home Depot. Crystal, aka Pretty Princess Barbie, and one of Colleen's Kid Kore Katies enjoyed the new, uninstalled toilet. We made them "swim" in the empty commode....why, I am not sure. Anyways, this set is absolutely enchanting. I fell in love with it the moment I found it in the doll aisle. I played with it ALL the time too, which explains some of the missing bits and the damage. Everything was so elegant and luxurious. I liked using the goblets, plates, and cider for fancy dinner dates. Jasmine and Leroy (Water Jewel Magic Aladdin) used these all the time when they were having a romantic dinner. We often pretended that the apple cider was some kind of alcohol. Of course dollies had to get intoxicated and throw up at some point during our doll games. I enjoyed playing with the makeup just as much. The little nail polish bottles were stunning and so realistic. They always looked amazing spread out on my dolls' bathroom sinks or vanities. I was devastated when the third soap went missing. It was purple...I remember that much. I can also recollect searching for it through all my many compartments in the storage box Mom bought me for my Barbie stuff. I never did find it...and even after two decades I still get frustrated. The magazines were often found around my dolly homes. I also used them for my beauty salon setups too, for reading material while the Barbies waited to have their hair done. The shoes were frequently utilized as well...my favorite and most played with pair were the fuzzy slippers. Colleen and I both always forget that these slippers didn't come with the Fashion Avenue outfit I picked out the same day. It was a lingerie item--a long blue, rose covered nightie. I always dressed Sparkling Jasmine or Travel in Style Barbie (aka Heidi) in this ensemble, paired with the fuzzy slippers.

The Leyland "Freightline" range was introduced in 1965 and featured the Ergomatic cab. This is a scan of an early brochure that details some o fthe more exotic optional extras that were available. However most of these options were in reality only available to the export market and UK operators received short wheeelbase day-cabbed vehicles with minimal extras.
