Fashion accessories design

Glass beads, brass, coins of various metals.

The left part of the accessory, I designed as an earring in an oriental style, the early nineties, at a time when this style was fashionable.

The right part of the accessory, added a few years later, when the oriental style went out of fashion.

What's more, as an earring, it was quite heavy.

This is how I turned the earring into a decorative wall hanger.

Part of my private collection.

Photographed in 2024.

Thanks for visiting.

Happy safe privacy, to all of us.

LOVE & PEACE.

The reason why there are so many visors and range finders in the latest clone battle pack.

I've been reading photographers' discussions on various external flash accessories. These are updated comparisons for 6th edition of my textbook, "Photojournalism: The Professionals' Approach."

For these tests, the subject remained at the same distance from the background, and the flash was located nine feet from the subject. Pictures in the left column were taken inside. Those in the right column were taken outside.

From top to bottom, the Indoor/Outdoor comparisons are for:

Direct Flash

Bouncing the flash off a ceiling

Fong diffuser

Lumiquest

Omnidome

Through a softbox

Off an umbrella

Outdoors or in a large ballroom or gymnasium, all the accessories work less well at softening shadows. Inside, light scatters off many surfaces. Outside, the scattered light rays coming from the accessories have few surfaces to bounce off.

Notice, in the outdoor series, that the shadow behind the model is darker in almost each situation.

All accessories are subject to the same laws of physics.

This photo was taken for a themed challenge of a tabletop photography group. I don’t remember exactly what it was, for it must have been something like “clothing and accessories”.

From front to back, you can see in approximate order:

. half–moon glasses by Lunor (Germany), mod. 219, color 02;

. cufflinks, gold and cornelian by Cartier (France) and gold and lapis–lazuli by Dunhill (Great Britain);

. Braun Series 8 electric shaver (Germany);

. Terre d’Hermès Cologne by Hermès (France;

. silk tie by Hermès (France);

. Burlington Argyle socks (used to be Great Britain, now made in Germany);

. Musto HPX foul–weather jacket for sailing;

. Harris Tweed jacket with authenticity seal and serial number.

Composite shot made of 12 focus–stacked exposures, using the built–in function on the Nikon Z7. Stack processed with Helicon Focus, Method C.

Strobist and technical: one Phottix Pro Indra500 monolight on a Profoto light stand in Rembrandt position to camera left, 1.5 meters from subject and 1.3 meters above it, firing at 1/8 power through a Phottix Pro 150–cm Raja parabolic softbox with double diffuser; and another Indra500 studio strobe on a Profoto tabletop light stand in lateral (slightly backlit) position to camera right, 1.5 meters from subject and at about the same height, firing at 1/8 power through an Andoer gridded snoot.

Strobes set and triggered via Phottix Pro Odin II radio controller on the Nikon Z7 hot shoe, manual mode. Sekonic L–858D light meter used to balance light sources. Gitzo GT3543 XLS tripod with Arca–Swiss Cube C1 geared head. Nikon Z7 camera body, 35mm f/1.8 S lens.

The consensus here is that the bottle is a reservoir for brake fluid. We doubt the bottle was standard Ford equipment. I thought this might be a Chivas Regal whisky bottle, but I might have been wrong.

Thanks for looking! I appreciate feedback.

My latest build is a retro style caravan, designed to go with the new VW Beetle set. It features a removable roof, reclaimed light fixtures, a converting sofa bed, a table (which can be stored on the roof) and small kitchen area. It is brightly lit inside thanks to large windows with (unfortunately static) curtains. It also comes with a variety of accessories including a radio, a record player (with extensive collection), a kettle and a frying pan.

Unfortunately discolouration of bricks has made the blue strip around the outside look a bit shabby, but I'm very happy with the interior!

These days, its really busy at work, and at home. Although, I am not getting any time to go out and click pictures, she makes sure that she gives me a perfect subject in herself.
