The focus of the conference “Accelerating 3D in the common European data space for cultural heritage: Why 3D matters“ was the why and wherefores of 3D in digital cultural heritage: why 3D matters; diversity and variety of content suitable for 3D digitisation; sharing best practices, and much more.
This Europeana conference under the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU took place on 18 April 2023. The conference was hosted by the Museum of Ethnography in Stockholm and online. This hybrid event was made possible thanks to the support of the Swedish Ministry of Culture, and was organised in collaboration with the Swedish National Heritage Board.

I've always had a fascination with spiraling, spinning patterns, from spiral galaxies to the heads of Sunflowers, the spiral seems to be ubiquitous in nature, and spirals in nature actually all correspond (in terms of their rate of spiral) to a specific mathematical formula known as the Fibonocci sequence. The Fibonacci sequence is named after a 13th century mathematician, Leonardo of Pisa, who was known as Fibonacci (a contraction of filius Bonaccio, "son of Bonaccio." Fibonacci's 1202 book Liber Abaci introduced the sequence to Western European mathematics, although the sequence had been previously described in Indian Mathematics. I can't help but relate to the process of human evolution as a spiral, as well. (Though Lord knows, it may look like a flat line).
